Monster Hunter Wilds Frame Rate Could Be Limited To 30 FPS On Consoles, Rumors Claim

As a seasoned gamer with decades of experience under my belt, I’ve seen games run the gamut from 5 FPS to 120 FPS, and everything in between. The latest news about Monster Hunter Wilds running at a stable 30 FPS on PS5 is a bit of a letdown for me. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still going to be an incredible game, but after the high-speed action of games like Splitgate and Rocket League, I was hoping for a smoother ride in Monster Hunter Wilds.

On consoles like the PlayStation 5 (PS5), the frame rates in Monster Hunter Wilds might be capped at 30 frames per second (FPS), as suggested by players who experienced the demo during Gamescom.

“During the demo, MH_Canta noted that it wasn’t running at 60 frames per second, but still felt smooth and consistent at around 30 frames per second,” is a possible paraphrase for the given statement.

In response to a subsequent query about their encounter, Canta mentioned that they couldn’t find a way to toggle to a performance mode within the game. However, it’s important to keep in mind that the version of the game being demonstrated is a preliminary one lacking complete functionality. This suggests that there might be possibilities for adding such features later on.

Initially, during pre-launch demonstrations, Dragon’s Dogma 2 ran at 30 frames per second (FPS). But following its release on consoles, the game later received an update that allowed players to adjust the frame rate from within the game’s settings.

To provide some clarity, we’ve contacted Capcom regarding the potential frame rate of their upcoming game, asking if it might reach 60 FPS at launch. So far, we haven’t heard back from them.
