As an avid gamer with years of looter-shooter experience under my belt, I can’t help but feel a renewed sense of excitement for The First Descendant‘s upcoming Season 1, dubbed ‘Invasion.’ Having dabbled in this game since its launch, I’ve been eagerly awaiting the arrival of new challenges, bosses, and Descendants.
Starting in three distinct installments, the initial segment of the series “The First Descendant” known as ‘Invasion‘ will debut on all platforms (PC, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS4, and PS5) on August 29th. Despite a decline in player base since its launch in late June, the game still has a dedicated fanbase who continue to log in daily to improve their loot, team up with friends, and maximize their damage numbers. The upcoming update brings even more exciting features such as unique challenges, a new boss, weapons, a new character called a Descendant, and much more.
When is Season 1 of The First Descendant?
As a dedicated gamer with years of experience under my belt, I am thrilled to share that the much-anticipated Season 1 of The First Descendant is finally set to commence on August 29, 2024. It’s been a long wait, but the excitement is palpable in the gaming community, and I can feel it too. Nexon has kept us guessing about the duration of this season, but they’ve hinted that there will be at least two more updates as part of the Invasion season.
What’s New in The First Descendant’s Invasion Season?
Invasion Event
As a thrilled fan, I’m excited to share that the standout feature of the upcoming season is the Solo Invasion Missions. During gameplay, you can opt for these unique dungeons and engage in an Invasion event within. Unlike the main story dungeons, these special instances offer a fresh challenge, with distinct puzzles that provide a breath of fresh air. The objective is to eliminate enemies swiftly to complete these events as quickly as possible.
New Descendant
Hailey Scott, an acclaimed marksman, is set to be part of the cast in Descendants. To learn about her abilities, take a look at the following chart:

| Zenith | Replaces Hailey’s weapon with her Unique Weapon, anti-material Sniper Cannon. Penetration of the anti-material Sniper Cannon and Firearm ATK greatly increase and deal additional Chill skill damage. Recovers MP upon successfully attacking Weak Points and decreases the Cooldown the more Bullets you have remaining when the skill ends. |
Inversion Reinforcer
After successfully completing the Invasion Event dungeons we discussed earlier, you will receive Ironheart Particles. These particles can be utilized to acquire enhanced capabilities for your Descendant, boosting their power with increased recovery rates and attribute resistances.

- Ultimate Freyna joins the roster.
- Two new ultimate weapons: The Excava and the Frost Watcher.
- You can do an Intercept Battle against the Death Stalker.
- Infiltration Operations gets a new, more challenging difficulty mode.
- A merchant named ETA-0 will visit Albion with different items in stock each time you see him.
