Players who’ve spent time with ARC Raiders quickly learn there’s a huge variety of useful items and grenades to find or craft during raids. While powerful explosives like the Wolfpack and movement tools like the zipline are popular for quick escapes or clever approaches, even the less common items can be incredibly helpful in the right situations.
Players often collect a lot of disposable items during their adventures, and might be surprised by how useful some of them actually are. Many of these surprisingly effective items are common, inexpensive, and easy to craft, offering a significant power boost despite being overlooked by most players.
Door Blocker
Buying You A Few Extra Seconds
- Cost: 810
- Recipe: 3x Metal Parts, 3x Rubber Parts (Utility Station 1)
Many players see Door Blockers as just extra weight in their inventory, something to sell or break down. But they can actually be very useful! When used strategically, they can quickly change the outcome of a fight. Because they deploy so quickly – in just a second – players can easily create a temporary barrier while escaping, slowing down enemies pursuing them.
This item is most effective in areas with lots of valuable loot and frequent player-versus-player combat. Giving your team a few extra seconds can be crucial for winning a firefight. Even without upgrades, it takes 10 seconds to break through a deployed Door Blocker, and even with some skill points invested, it still buys enough time to revive a teammate, heal up, or quickly reposition.
Noisemaker
An Early Warning For What’s To Come
- Cost: 1920
- Recipe: 1x Speaker Component, 2x Plastic Parts (Inventory)
Noisemakers are useful, single-use items that are best for controlling areas, not rushing into fights. You can place them as sound-based traps to warn you about or discourage other players. While they don’t offer instant results, many players underestimate how powerful they can be when used strategically.
When searching for loot in a popular spot like the Control Tower on Dam Battlegrounds, you’ll often encounter other teams. To gain an advantage, try placing Noisemakers throughout the area. These will help you pinpoint the location of approaching players, especially those trying to sneak up on you. Knowing where other teams are is crucial for success, so this early warning system can give you time to prepare for a fight or realize if they’ve moved on to somewhere else.
Light Impact Grenade
Some Much-Needed Extra Damage
- Cost: 810
- Recipe: 1x Plastic Parts, 3x Chemicals (Explosives Station 1/Workbench/Inventory)
Players have many options for offensive grenades to use against both Raiders and Arcs, with some preferring the strong impact of heavy-fuse grenades, showstoppers, or even grenades salvaged from destroyed bots. However, light impact grenades are a great choice too – they’re very affordable to make and buy, and surprisingly effective, making them a useful weapon to have on hand when trouble arises.
Okay, so these genades aren’t super strong individually – just 30 damage each. But the cool thing is you can carry five in a stack without being weighed down. That lets you do some pretty solid area-of-effect damage, especially if you catch enemies in a tight space. Plus, they’re really fast to throw, so I can lob a few, soften up my opponent from a distance, and then rush in for the kill. Honestly, they’re a great choice if you like to play aggressively in PvP and don’t want to spend a ton of resources.
Barricade Kit
More Cover Is Never A Bad Thing
- Cost: 1920
- Recipe: 1x Mechanical Components (Utility Station 1)
Barricade Kits are often underestimated in ARC Raiders, but they can be lifesavers. You can place these kits almost anywhere with a flat surface to instantly create a metal wall. This gives you a quick moment to recover, heal, and prepare to re-engage in combat.
Players often think they can quickly destroy the barrier with gunfire, but it’s surprisingly durable – it has 500 HP and can take a lot of damage, even from multiple attackers. What’s really unique is that players can actually pick it up and move it wherever they need cover, letting them reuse it throughout a raid, whether they’re fighting outdoors or in close quarters.
Smoke Grenade
Sneaking Away Unseen
- Cost: 3000
- Recipe: 7x Chemicals, 1x Canister (Utility Station/Workbench)
Many new players underestimate smoke grenades, dismissing them as not very useful. However, they’re actually one of the most versatile and effective grenades in the game, valuable in almost every playthrough. While they’re obviously good for creating cover, their uses go much deeper. You can use them to safely revive teammates, block off areas from enemies, and most importantly, escape safely by hiding from Raiders guarding the exit.
While buying a lot of smoke grenades can be expensive, players will discover many while exploring Topside. Once they experience how effective smoke grenades are, most won’t enter a raid without them. Blocking enemy vision can quickly turn a battle around and help players escape.
