An ARC Raiders player proposed a good idea to Embark Studios: change the locations where loot appears on each map every week. This would prevent players from memorizing the best spots and keep the game fresh. The suggestion resonated with many other fans. ARC Raiders launched on October 30th and is playable on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
Even with big competitors like Battlefield 6 and Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 launching around the same time, ARC Raiders has become very popular. It even reached a peak number of players on Steam during the launch weekend of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. The developers at Embark Studios are actively working to keep players interested, recently adding a new community event and a map called Stella Montis. As a game that’s constantly updated, many players are curious about what’s next for ARC Raiders. While new maps are a good way to keep people playing, some fans have shared ideas that could make the game even better.
ARC Raiders Players Want Loot Spawns to Change Over Time
A Reddit user named Ausrivo proposed a way to improve the game ARC Raiders: changing the locations where valuable items appear each week. Currently, the best places to find loot stay the same, with certain areas consistently offering more than others. This predictability lets players settle into routines. Ausrivo suggests rotating these loot locations weekly, which many other fans support. This would encourage players to explore the entire map more often, searching for the best new loot spots each week.
Like in many games, knowing a map well in ARC Raiders has both advantages and disadvantages. While it helps players quickly find good loot, it can also make each playthrough feel less surprising. Players focused on collecting the best blueprints might fall into repetitive routines, revisiting the same spots and facing the same challenges, which can diminish the initial sense of discovery. Ausrivo suggests that while players will always learn maps, changing up where loot appears could encourage them to return each week to see what’s new. This would also make encounters with other players less predictable, as teams and solo players wouldn’t always be drawn to the same valuable areas.
When ARC Raiders first came out, the yellow and red areas on the map showed players where to begin searching for valuable items. But players have since found even better loot in areas outside of those marked zones, although these discoveries don’t stay secret for long. For example, on the Blue Gate map, there’s a particularly rewarding route that helps players gather all the materials needed to improve their workshop. This route isn’t just about resources, either – players can also find weapons and blueprints there. It starts at a location called Reinforced Reception, which isn’t highlighted with a yellow or red marker.
The Reinforced Reception area has become a hotspot for loot and intense early-game fights, as more players learn about it from content creators and other gamers. This constant rush to one location can lead to repetitive and frustrating experiences, potentially making the game less fun over time. One suggestion to fix this is to change the locations of the best loot each week, forcing players to explore different areas. While it’s uncertain if the developers of ARC Raiders, Embark Studios, will implement this change, many players are hopeful. Embark has already shown they listen to the community by adjusting cosmetic prices and adding a duos mode based on player feedback.
