Stardew Valley: How to Get Auto-Grabber

Stardew Valley: How to Get Auto-Grabber

As a seasoned Stardew Valley player with countless hours spent tending to my digital farm, I can confidently say that the Auto-Grabber is a game-changer. By Year 2, when I finally unlocked it after reaching Farming Level 10, I was overjoyed at the prospect of saving precious time and streamlining my daily chores.

In Stardew Valley, there are numerous crafting tools available that can boost the quality of your crops and handmade items. However, tasks like collecting eggs from chicken coops and milking cows and goats can consume a significant amount of your valuable time. To reduce your morning/daily chores, consider using the Auto-Grabber item. By Stardew Valley‘s second year, you should have a sufficient Farming Skill level to unlock the Auto-Grabber. Keep in mind that there is a minor disadvantage associated with the Auto-Grabber, but overall, it’s a wise investment, particularly if you have more than two barns or coops.

Where to Find Auto-Grabber

Marnie’s Ranch

Stardew Valley: How to Get Auto-Grabber

When you attain Farming Level 10, Marnie will send you a letter about an item called the Auto-Grabber. As its name suggests, this device automatically collects animal products from barns and coops. Upon clicking on the Auto-Grabber, you’ll find a storage area much like chests. In this space, any items your animals possess will appear in the Auto-Grabber. If there are goods to gather, the center of the Auto-Grabber will turn white or filled.

You’re welcome to purchase multiple Auto-Grabbers if you wish, however, each building requires only one. The price for an individual Auto-Grabber is 25000g. Marnie’s Ranch typically closes on Mondays and Tuesdays, but there may be some instances where her schedule deviates from this pattern.

Marnie’s house is open for visits between 9:00am and 6:00pm, but her store operates only from 9:00am to 4:00pm. If you have the Island Resort open, Marnie might go there for the whole day, even on rainy days. She will work in her shop on rainy days, regardless of whether it’s a Monday or Tuesday. On Mondays when it rains, Marnie adjusts her usual schedule to manage the shop from 9:00am to 4:00pm. However, if she chooses to visit the island instead, the shop will be closed on those days, even if it’s raining.

As a devoted admirer, I’d like to share a handy tip: If you possess the Animal Catalogue, you can secure animals or goods from Marnie’s Ranch without her being present! This feature adds convenience to your shopping experience. Enjoy exploring and expanding your ranch with this fantastic tool!

Is the Auto-Grabber Worth Getting?

Pros & Cons of Auto-Grabber

Stardew Valley: How to Get Auto-Grabber

The Auto-Grabber is a useful addition to your farm, particularly in the mid to late stages of play. Unlike manual milking or shearing, this tool does not provide the usual +5 friendship points for your animals and offers no Farming experience. However, you can obtain an Auto-Grabber once you reach Farming Level 10, so any lost experience prior to that point won’t impact your ability to acquire it.

As a gamer, I’d definitely recommend tending to my in-game pets regularly. The Auto-Petter (introduced in version 1.6) can help with this, but if you prefer a more hands-on approach like me, remember to pet your animals daily. Building up their friendship levels not only makes them happier, but it also improves the quality of the products they yield. If an animal is unhappy, they won’t produce any milk or eggs. So, keeping those friendships strong is essential for a successful farm!
