A player of Battlefield 6 has suggested a way to make the Conquest mode more interesting: allowing it to be played on the REDSEC map, also known as Fort Lyndon. This battle royale map has areas that could work well in other game types. However, some Battlefield 6 fans aren’t sure if the developers, DICE, should actually add this feature.
When Battlefield 6 first came out, there were a bunch of ways to play, and my go-to was always Conquest. It’s a massive 64-player mode – 32 on each team – where you’re fighting over huge maps, trying to capture points and basically wipe out the other team’s reinforcements. Since then, they’ve added a lot more, including a free-to-play battle royale mode called REDSEC. It’s been a bit controversial – some people love it, others aren’t so sure – but a lot of us think some of the stuff in REDSEC could be really cool in other parts of the game.
Battlefield Fan Concept Suggests Making Conquest Playable on REDSEC Map
A player on Reddit, known as the_shortbus_, proposed a way to make the Conquest game mode more interesting. They suggested adding sections of the REDSEC map, specifically areas from Fort Lyndon. They weren’t suggesting the entire map be used at once, but rather broken down into smaller, playable sections. The player enjoyed the REDSEC map’s design but doesn’t like battle royale formats, and believes incorporating parts of Fort Lyndon into Conquest would let more players experience it. They also think the larger spaces would be beneficial for planes during gameplay.
Okay, so this Conquest idea I posted is getting some serious love from the Battlefield community – tons of upvotes! People are really sharing their thoughts in the comments, and one person even had a cool idea for how Fort Lyndon could work as three separate maps for multiplayer. Others are hoping they could take the battle royale map and turn it into something like the Operations mode from Battlefield 1, which would be awesome.
The community showed interest in adapting the REDSEC map for use in Conquest mode, but some players questioned if it would be feasible. Concerns raised on Reddit highlighted existing problems with current Conquest maps that still need to be addressed by developers. Players believe adding sections from REDSEC could be difficult, as they might not function well in other game modes. Although portions of the REDSEC map are already available through Battlefield 6‘s Portal, many players have reported experiencing lag and difficulties finding full lobbies.
It’ll be fun to see what new content is added to Battlefield 6 in the coming weeks. Even with some problems, the game remains popular on platforms like Steam. While it’s still uncertain if the REDSEC map will ever be available for the Conquest mode, players can expect the Winter Offensive update on December 9th, which will introduce the Ice Lock Empire State map.
