Warzone’s infamous Doom Shotgun returns to terrorize Rebirth Island

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades under my belt, I can confidently say that the return of the Doom Super Shotgun in Warzone Season 5 Reloaded has sent me back to my gaming roots. The thrill of one-shotting opponents from absurd distances with the Lockwood 300 Blueprint is a nostalgic rush, reminiscent of the good ol’ days when shotguns ruled the battlefield.

In a notable return, the infamous Doom Super Shotgun has reappeared in Season 5 Reloaded of Warzone, dominating Rebirth Island as it sweeps through.

The mid-season update brought back the highly-anticipated Supreme Resurgence gameplay, accessible only on Rebirth Island. This special mode swaps out standard ground loot for potent Blueprints instead. In this mode, high-quality weapons are hidden throughout the map, yet players retain the choice to purchase their preferred loadout.

Following its reintroduction, players swiftly noticed that the once contentious Doom Shotgun, which ruled over Al Mazrah at its debut, is back with a fierce intensity.

You might recall that the Lockwood 300 Blueprint is capable of instantly eliminating heavily armored opponents from distances far beyond typical shotgun ranges, leaving the opponent with minimal reaction time. Since its launch, content creators such as ‘tcTekk’ have been showcasing their use of the shotgun to swiftly take out players in videos they’ve posted online.

In the given mode of Warzone, the Doom Shotgun makes a comeback due to the inclusion of the Maelstrom Dual Trigger. In standard Warzone matches, this trigger is prohibited. This attachment, called Trigger Action, allows the Lockwood 300 to discharge both barrels simultaneously, thereby doubling the damage inflicted.

Individuals operating the Blueprint can swiftly eliminate an adversary with a single pull of the trigger, demonstrating superior firepower compared to most advanced Submachine Guns (SMGs).

In Warzone, the Doom Shotgun isn’t making its debut again; it previously appeared during Season 3 Reloaded in Loaded Resurgence. The catch this time is that players needed a different Blueprint, the Maelstrom Dual Trigger one, because the Super Shotgun Blueprint still had it locked.

On Supreme Resurgence this time around, the infamous Meta Weapon has returned to its classic state. It’s important to mention though, that it is no longer for sale in the CoD Store. Therefore, only those who previously bought it can enjoy using it.

It seems that the developers may have accidentally included the one-shot Doom Shotgun, but it’s expected to disappear from the game once more – this could happen by disallowing the Maelstrom attachment again, or if Supreme Resurgence doesn’t remain in Warzone during Season 6.
