Tetris Forever is Coming to Nintendo Switch in 2024

Forty years since its inception, this iconic game continues to captivate us with new iterations, and Tetris Forever promises to be the ultimate celebration. With over 15 classic titles and an hour of never-before-seen documentary footage, I can’t wait to delve into the history of the series while reliving my favorite moments from the past.

Today, Nintendo unveiled that Tetris Forever will be available on the Switch in 2024. This announcement was made during their most recent Direct Partner presentation, along with a fresh trailer to go along with it.

As a die-hard Tetris enthusiast, I can’t contain my excitement as we mark the 40th anniversary of the iconic Tetris game! Tetris Forever is here to honor this milestone by gathering an impressive collection of timeless classics from the legendary series.

Today’s fresh trailer unveils that Tetris Forever is a “gaming experience that blends interactive documentaries.” Players get to enjoy over fifteen unique variations of classic Tetris games, as they delve into the rich history of the series through approximately an hour’s worth of brand-new documentary content.

It appears that the recent trailer for Tetris Forever didn’t specify an exact launch date, but we do know that the NES version of Tetris is set to arrive on Nintendo Switch Online during Winter 2024. This release will also coincide with a Tetris 99 Maximus Cup event.

So, it’s possible that Tetris Forever will try to launch around the same time as that release.

The classic game Tetris saw a surge of fresh attention after the release of a live-action movie that depicted its background story.

Previously this year, a 13-year-old athlete managed to conquer the game Tetris for the first time. Additionally, it was only last month that Minecraft released Tetris as downloadable content (DLC). Therefore, enthusiasts can look forward to revisiting these timeless games with the upcoming release of Tetris Forever, expected in 2024.
