Ghost of Yotei Reveals Patch Notes for Major November 24 Update

On November 24th, Ghost of Yotei received a major update, introducing features like New Game Plus and a lot of fresh content. Since its launch on October 2nd, the game has been a hit for both Sucker Punch and Sony, and these updates are continuing to enhance the player experience.

Just three days after its release, Ghost of Yotei became a huge success for Sucker Punch, selling over 2 million copies. This quick success meant the game likely earned back its development costs twice over – especially noteworthy since it was only available on PlayStation 5. Despite this early triumph, Sucker Punch is still dedicated to improving the game with updates, bug fixes, and new content for players.

The November 24th update for Ghost of Yotei isn’t huge, but it packs in a lot of new content. As promised, a New Game+ mode is now available, letting players start a fresh playthrough with all of Atsu’s armor, abilities, and weapons unlocked. Players can also find a new merchant who trades in Ghost Flowers—a currency earned by completing in-game activities—for 30 new cosmetic items, including dyes, two armor sets, and 10 charms. Armor sets can now be upgraded further, and two new trophies have been added for players to earn.

If you’d rather not start a new game, this update lets you revisit previously completed open-world activities, including all 22 Yotei Six Camps and 26 challenge duels. The game’s photo mode, which was already full of features, now has even more options, and players can enjoy Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) support. A new “Balanced” graphics mode is also available, offering a middle ground between Performance and Quality, but it needs a monitor that can handle a 120Hz refresh rate.

Beyond fixing bugs and crashes, the Ghost of Yotei update expands on Sucker Punch’s commitment to accessibility with even more customization options. Players now have greater control over their experience, including the ability to disable fall damage, skip optional Sumi-e activities, automatically collect loot from fallen enemies, and customize touchpad controls using the D-Pad. The update also adds a helpful visual cue when tracking animals during side quests in Ghost of Yotei.

Now that the update is out, fans are looking forward to the return of Legends mode in Ghost of Yotei, expected to launch in 2026. While details are still scarce, the developer has revealed that it will include 2 co-op missions and 4 survival missions where players face demonic versions of the Yotei Six. Players will also have 4 new classes to choose from, though their identities remain a mystery.
