PC gamers will soon get to play an RPG heavily inspired by the classic Paper Mario series. Called Escape from Ever After, the game launches on January 23, 2026, and features bright, colorful graphics, engaging gameplay, and a unique story. It aims to capture the spirit of Paper Mario while adding its own fresh ideas, and will be available on PC through Steam, as well as Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

Escape from Ever After Brings the Paper Mario Experience to PC, PS5, and Xbox
In the comedic adventure game Escape from Ever After, players join Flynt Buckler, a classic hero whose fight against the dragon Tinder is unexpectedly disrupted by a greedy corporation. Ever After Inc. is exploiting storybooks to amass wealth and cheap labor, ruining the magic of each tale in the process. Flynt and Tinder form an unlikely alliance to take down the company from the inside, climbing the corporate ladder to dismantle its empire. They’ll journey through different storybook worlds, battling enemies in turn-based combat, collecting items and allies, and overcoming challenges both in fantastical lands and dull office environments.
Similar to other adventure RPGs, Escape from Ever After lets you build a team of characters, each with special abilities useful in battles and while exploring. You can also personalize your own office and chat with coworkers to fit in at Ever After Inc. The game features expansive storybook worlds to discover, a narrative filled with hidden layers, and a lively big-band soundtrack. Escape from Ever After will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox Series in January 2026, offering players a lot to enjoy.
