Final Fantasy 14: The Rising 2024 Event Guide

As a long-time adventurer in the realm of Eorzea, I can confidently say that the annual celebration of The Rising in Final Fantasy 14 never fails to fill me with a sense of nostalgia and excitement. Much like a phoenix rising from the ashes, this event has transformed over the years, shedding its troubled past and soaring into new heights.

Final Fantasy 14 is commemorating its eleventh year with its annual affair, The Rising, offering players a brief window to obtain special, time-limited items and achievements. This limited-time event runs for just two weeks, from August 27 to September 11, 7:59 AM Pacific Daylight Time. To ensure they don’t miss out on this year’s prizes, gamers should act swiftly. Furthermore, those who failed to secure rewards from last year’s Rising event, including the Reborn Phoenix mount, now have the opportunity to acquire them via the online Mogstation store.

Initially met with negative feedback on August 27, 2013, the tale of Final Fantasy 14‘s resurgence is one that resonates with long-term players of the game. This journey culminated in the shutdown of the initial version 1.0 release, followed by the launch of a revamped version 2.0, titled A Realm Reborn. The game’s rocky beginnings were mirrored within the game itself, with the final moments of service for version 1.0 coinciding with an apocalyptic event. Over a decade later, Final Fantasy 14 has recovered, consistently breaking records and transforming The Rising from a symbol of past sorrow to a beacon of hope for the future.

The Rising 2024 Event Guide

2024’s edition of The Rising event commences with the Wandering Minstrel positioned on the Upper Decks of Limsa Lominsa (11.3, 13.7) offering the quest “Rising to the Call”. Players should then locate Ayoyo on the bottom floor of the Marauder’s Guild within the same Upper Decks area (11.4, 6.1). Following this, players will find themselves at the Aetheryte Plaza in the Lower Decks of Limsa Lominsa (9.2, 10.9). Ayoyo will ask players to converse with four characters situated along Hawkers’ Alley west of the Aetheryte Plaza: Swozblaet (8.4, 11.5), the Middle-aged Mariner (7.4, 11.9), S’dhodjbi (6.3, 12.0), and the Misty-eyed Skygazer (7.1, 12.6). Once all these characters have been addressed, players must meet Ayoyo again at the Ferry Docks on the west side of the Lower Decks before reuniting with the Wandering Minstrel back at the Aftcastle where he was initially spotted.

In the second mission titled “We Who Set Sail Salute You”, players are directed to revisit the Marauder’s Guild and converse with Commodore Reyner. This is followed by a journey to the Anchor Yard, situated in the southwest area of Limsa Lominsa Upper Decks. After a brief video sequence, players can chat with Ayoyo for the last time, thereby finishing the event. The accomplishment “For Eleven’s Sake” is then bestowed upon them, granting 10 achievement points that can be utilized with Jonathas in Old Gridania.

The Rising 2024 Event Rewards

Finishing The Rising event missions will bestow upon players the freshly updated miniature character, Brushed-up Krile, who takes on the role of Pictomancer from Dawntrail. Those who have not participated in earlier Rising events can now access all the mini-games from past occurrences, which can be found either in any inn room’s Toy Chest or the Toy Box storage. The collection of mini-games includes a platformer that scrolls automatically, Egg Hunter Riggy; an RPG-inspired brick breaker, Kupo Kupo Adventure; a first-person dungeon crawler, Cheap Dungeon, and many more engaging titles.

Items tied to specific events can be obtained from the merchant known as ‘The Rising Vendor in the Upper Decks of Limsa Lominsa (coordinates X:11.8, Y:13.6)’. This includes items like the 2024-exclusive Rising Table Lamp and party items with visual effects such as the Heavenscracker, Magicked Prisms, and Realm Reborn Red champagne. Since many of these consumables are only accessible during The Rising event, players who wish to utilize them frequently should consider stocking up on them while the event is still running.
