Soulframe Preludes 12 Starter Pact Guide for New Players

Soulframe shares a lot with its sci-fi counterpart, Warframe, dropping you into an alien world where you’ll need to learn as you go. The tutorials are still being developed, so figuring things out can be tricky right now. But don’t worry, we’ve explored the game extensively and can offer some helpful advice, especially when it comes to choosing your starting class, or Pact.

Which Starting Pact to Choose in Soulframe?

If you’re like me and played Warframe, the Pact system in Soulframe might seem a little weird at first. Basically, Pacts are just the classes, but here’s the cool part: unlike most RPGs, I can switch between classes whenever I want – as long as I’m not in a fight! Now, each Pact still needs leveling up, so choosing one does matter if I want to really specialize in a certain playstyle. It’s awesome being able to experiment though!

Currently, there are three Pacts in Soulframe with which new players are presented:

Pact RPG Archetype Skills/Abilities
Tethren Melee and offense -Fellus (melee damage buff)
-Call of Ancients (draws your enemies)
-Clash (AoE stagger and stun)
Sirin Ranged and stealth -Picktrix Powder (blinds and weakens enemies)
-Trick of the Light (decoy that draws enemies)
-Glamour (invisibility)
Oscelda Magic and support -Bestone (immobilize your enemies)
-Elderbloom (area healing)
-Phantom Flock (temporary unkillable minions)

When you choose a Pact, you’ll start with a unique weapon and it will change the look of your Envoy’s right arm. Tethren Pacts begin with close-combat weapons, Sirin Pacts with bows, and Oscelda Pacts with staves or magical weapons. You’re welcome to change weapons between Pacts whenever you like, but be aware that certain Pacts offer benefits when using specific weapon types.

Pacts come with unique skills that work well with different weapons and ways of playing. They can reach a maximum level of 30 by being used in battles. To figure out which Pact suits you best, we suggest leveling up all three starting Pacts to at least Level 10. This will unlock all their abilities, letting you test each playstyle. However, you’re welcome to level them all the way to 30 if you like!

Special Pacts

In Soulframe, completing quests and rescuing corrupted creatures lets you gain their power. These powers sometimes manifest as Pacts – stronger versions of your initial abilities. Unlike those starting Pacts, these advanced ones aren’t given to you automatically; you’ll need to earn them through gameplay.

  • Ode Tempest (Silent Rose and Alca’s Children factions)
  • Mora’s Hand (Kith of Kings faction)
  • Garren Rood (The Torment Stag quest/fable)
  • Orengall (The Shewolf Snared quest/fable)
  • Bromius (The Waste Bear quest/fable)

Each advanced Pact grants your Envoy unique abilities, opening up new ways to play and customize your character. We plan to add even more Pacts to Soulframe with future updates, along with new content and stories to discover. Keep an eye out for what’s coming!
