ARC Raiders Players Are Bursting Into Flames

Players of ARC Raiders are reporting a frustrating bug after today’s new update, released November 27th. Embark Studios launched patch 1.4.0 early this morning, including several fixes and improvements. The main goal of the update is to prevent players from accessing restricted areas using unauthorized methods. While available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, players are noting that this update is causing characters to unexpectedly burst into flames – making it a particularly ‘hot’ fix indeed.

In the extraction shooter ARC Raiders, players constantly search for the best weapons, items, and gear. This loot comes from defeated opponents, enemies, and special locations, with rare Epic and Legendary items being the most sought-after. A key way to access valuable resources is by finding keys that unlock restricted areas on the map. However, these keys are hard to find, so some players have been using glitches to bypass the locked doors. Recently, several methods have been discovered, but the most common involves one player running into a locked door while another player pushes them from behind, allowing the first player to phase through the door and unlock it from the inside.

ARC Raiders Fixes Locked Door Glitch With a Fiery Solution

Embark Studios has playfully fixed a glitch in ARC Raiders that let players access locked rooms without keys. While the glitch still exists, attempting it now triggers a trap: the room is filled with flamethrowers! Players who exploit their way inside are quickly and permanently incinerated, unable to escape. It took a while, but Embark addressed the issue with a surprisingly amusing solution, as detailed in the latest update notes.

Embark Studios, made up of developers who previously worked at DICE, probably could have fixed the glitch that lets players walk through a locked door. However, fans think leaving it in the game is actually a better approach. Players who used the glitch to get inside are now finding the bodies of other glitchers still inside, along with all the loot they dropped. This means those who cheat lose their items, while players who use a key to enter legitimately are rewarded with extra loot. One player said they preferred this to a simple fix, and another pointed out that the community would likely find a new glitch anyway, making this solution long-lasting.

Players will now need to find keycards to unlock rooms in locations like Dam Battlegrounds, Buried City, Spaceport, Blue Gate, and Stella Montis. Finding these keycards in ARC Raiders can be challenging, depending on the room. While each unlocked room contains loot, some – like the Control Tower in Dam Battlegrounds – offer particularly valuable rewards. Keycards appear randomly, but players often find them in draws, containers, and supply drops.

So, the new update for ARC Raiders did more than just let us set enemies on fire! They also fixed a really annoying glitch with the Il Toro shotgun. This thing is already super powerful – it can usually take down enemies in just a couple of shots, depending on their shields. But to keep it balanced, there’s usually a delay between firing. Well, players figured out a way around that! We discovered that if you quickly switched from the Il Toro to a quick-use item and back, you could fire it way faster than you should be able to. Thankfully, the developers at Embark patched that, so things are fair again.
