PlayStation Plus is nearing the end of a significant year. 2024 marked the 15th anniversary of Sony’s subscription service, and it brought a variety of popular games to the platform, both well-known titles like Cyberpunk 2077 and Lies of P, and smaller, but equally engaging indie games such as Stray and Viewfinder. PlayStation Plus subscribers enjoyed a diverse selection of games throughout the year.
Sony revealed the free PlayStation Plus games for December, and this month they’re offering a special treat: five games instead of the usual three! Players with a PS Plus membership can download LEGO Horizon Adventures, Killing Floor 3, The Outlast Trials, Neon White, and Synduality: Echo of Ada starting December 2nd and continuing until January 5th. Those with a PS Plus Extra subscription will also be able to get Red Dead Redemption on December 2nd.
Just a heads up – the official PlayStation Plus blog notes that some of these games might not be available in all countries.
LEGO Horizon Adventures
Read Game Rant’s Review of LEGO Horizon Adventures
LEGO Horizon Adventures reimagines the popular Horizon series for a wider audience. Players take on the role of Aloy as she works to bring people together and rebuild society after a disaster, all while battling dangerous, rogue machines. The game captures the spirit of Aloy’s journey with the familiar, colorful LEGO style and gameplay, and even lets a friend join in on the action. With so many good games available on PS Plus, LEGO Horizon Adventures is expected to be the most popular download this month.
- Familiar combat via weak-point targeting + machine takedowns
- Level-based structure (not open world) + linear but varied stages
- Customization, upgrade systems, and hub-base building
The Outlast Trials

Following the success of their single-player horror games, Red Barrels has created The Outlast Trials, a terrifying experience that can be played with friends or alone. Players take on the role of test subjects in a series of dangerous experiments for the Murkoff Corporation and must find supplies to escape. With its relentlessly scary atmosphere and cooperative gameplay, The Outlast Trials is a truly gruesome and enjoyable game. While it’s a recent addition to PS Plus’s horror lineup, it’s a game that really makes the experience complete.
- Flexible solo or 2–4 player cooperative play
- Upgradeable “rig” abilities and resource-based tools shape strategy
- Procedural/randomized trials & replayability, with difficulty modifiers

Tripwire’s newest game, Killing Floor 3, is a fast-paced, cooperative horror shooter where up to six players team up to fight waves of genetically modified monsters called “Zeds.” Like The Outlast Trials, it’s a scary experience, but Killing Floor 3 focuses more on combat. Players choose from six different specialist classes, each with unique weapons and gear, and can customize their skills and equipment between rounds. This allows them to improve their abilities, take on tougher challenges, and earn even better rewards.
- Specialist classes + deep progression, skill trees and loadout customization
- Enhanced mobility + dynamic, vertical environments
- More tactical layers: modded weapons, environmental traps, mid-wave choices & strategy elements
Neon White

Neon White is a fast-paced action game where you play as a demon trying to earn a spot in heaven. You’ll race through tricky levels, defeat enemies, and use special cards to boost your abilities – it’s similar to a roguelike game. Critics loved how addictive and visually stunning Neon White is, and it’s a great addition to the growing collection of roguelike games available with PS Plus.
- Levels designed for mastery & replayability, with medals/times to chase
- Fluid, satisfying movement + platforming emphasis
- Strategic card-and-resource management under pressure
Synduality: Echo of Ada
Check out Synduality: Echo of Ada on OpenCritic
Synduality: Echo of Ada is an upcoming sci-fi shooter available on PS Plus where players fight both monsters and other players to collect valuable resources. The game is set in a future where a disaster has driven humanity underground. Players take on the role of ‘Drifters,’ piloting mechs with AI support, and venture to the surface to gather ‘AO crystals’ from deformed creatures called ‘Enders’ and competing Drifters. They then return to a central city to upgrade their gear and prepare for more dangerous missions.
- PvPvE world: cooperation or betrayal by other players adds volatility
- Base upgrades, crafting and progression tied to survival & resource management
- High-risk resource gathering loop: loot, fight, extract or lose it all
While PlayStation Plus members are excited about what 2026 might bring, we still have one more set of free games coming to PS Plus Extra and Premium in the next few weeks. Plus, members can look forward to an even bigger selection of free games in the final PlayStation Plus Essential lineup before the year ends.
