Every PowerWash Simulator Crossover So Far Explained

As a seasoned gamer with decades of experience under my belt, I must admit that I’ve seen some unusual crossovers in my time, but none have quite captured my heart like PowerWash Simulator. This seemingly simple game about washing things has become a powerhouse in the gaming world, rivaling even the mighty Marvel Cinematic Universe in terms of collaborations.

Crossovers have been a part of the entertainment industry since the Universal monsters first teamed up in 1943’s Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man, but they’ve become a much more prominent part of modern pop-culture thanks to the rise of cinematic universes like the MCU. Over the last few decades, this widespread love of crossovers has seeped into the gaming world, with Super Smash Bros. and, more recently, Fortnite leading the charge with their countless collaborations. But somehow, PowerWash Simulator is giving them all a run for their money.

2022 marked the launch of the popular game PowerWash Simulator, where players employ the featured power washer to clean various surroundings. The earnings from these tasks are then utilized to enhance their equipment collection. This straightforward, inviting, and stress-free gameplay has attracted a significant fanbase in recent years, resulting in some high-profile partnerships for the game.

Every PowerWash Simulator Collaboration DLC Explained

Tomb Raider

Launched in January 2023, PowerWash Simulator saw its first significant partnership with the Tomb Raider DLC. This collaboration for the understated Square Enix-produced game established a pattern that all subsequent crossovers would emulate. The Tomb Raider DLC introduced five new levels inspired by the renowned video game series, each located within Lara Croft’s manor house, her family home.

Final Fantasy

The “Midgar Special Pack,” a free crossover DLC for the game PowerWash Simulator released in March 2023, allows players to clean up well-known spots from Final Fantasy 7 Remake, such as Avalanche’s Seventh Heaven headquarters, the Shinra HQ’s showroom floor, and the Mako Energy Exhibit. Additionally, players can powerwash iconic vehicles and bosses from FF7, including the Hardy Daytona bike, Scorpion Sentinel, and Airbuster.

SpongeBob SquarePants

In the first paid collaboration for “PowerWash Simulator,” the SpongeBob SquarePants Special Pack introduces the iconic sponge’s town, Bikini Bottom, to the game. This collaboration adds six new levels and a fresh outfit themed around the world of SpongeBob for your character, helping you blend seamlessly in this animated universe.

Back to The Future

2023 saw PowerWash Simulator conclude with an exciting addition in November – the Back to the Future crossover DLC. Priced identically at $7.99 like the SpongeBob DLC, this Back to the Future Special Pack offered a different experience, though. Instead of increasing the number of levels, it brought them back down to five and didn’t include a new outfit for your character. However, the stages are more intricate, taking you on adventures to the Hill Valley Clocktower and beyond.

Warhammer 40,000

A bizarre but great crossover, PowerWash Simulator added a Warhammer 40,000 Special Pack in February of this year. Taking on the role of an Adeptus Mechanicus worker – and given an outfit to boot – this Warhammer 40K DLC has players washing down an array of iconic vehicles ripped right out of the grim-dark universe. This DLC also gave players a themed skin for their washer, making it look like one of 40K‘s metallic Bolters.

Alice in Wonderland

Despite not being directly tied to any specific adaptation, the latest DLC for PowerWash Simulator, themed around Alice in Wonderland, can technically be considered a collaboration with Lewis Carroll’s original 1865 novel, Alice’s Adventures Underground. This vibrant and almost hallucinogenic expansion is widely regarded as the best yet for PowerWash Simulator, thanks to its diverse and captivating cleaning locations.

Shrek

It’s been recently announced that the upcoming DLC for PowerWash Simulator is going to feature a collaboration with DreamWorks’ Shrek. Expected to launch in Fall 2024, this Shrek-themed DLC will include a knight skin, a washer styled like a sword as a cosmetic item, and five levels predominantly based on the first two Shrek films.
