With the new Precious Paths season in Pokémon GO, players can buy a ticket for $7.99 called “Masterwork Research: A Precious Catch.” Completing this research will give players a highly sought-after Master Ball.

In the world of Pokémon, the Master Ball is famous for being able to catch absolutely any Pokémon, making it every trainer’s biggest wish.

We haven’t released all the details about the Masterwork research just yet. The first part will be available when the new season begins, and we’ll be adding more throughout the season, which will continue until March 3, 2026.

We’ll continue to update this Pokémon GO guide as we learn more about the steps and rewards. We currently believe the Master Ball will be the final reward for completing the research, so be aware of that.

  • Catch 250 Pokemon
    • Reward: 20 Poke Balls
  • Use 150 Berries to help catch Pokemon
    • Reward: 15 Razz Berries
  • Make 100 Nice Curveball Throws
    • Reward: 2500 Stardust
  • Total Reward:
    • 2500 XP and Lechonk Encounter

Is the Masterwork Research Ticket Worth It?

Master Balls are rarely available in Pokemon GO, so spending $8 to get one might be a good deal. The other rewards don’t seem very valuable—the first step only gives you Lechonk—unless you really want that Master Ball.
