Okay, so Where Winds Meet can be pretty tough going it alone, but honestly, it doesn’t have to be! I quickly figured out you can team up with other players you meet while exploring, and it makes everything way easier – plus, it’s more fun! Setting up a group is super fast, and then you’re good to go, ready to tackle anything.
We’ll teach you how to connect with other players, team up, and complete quests in Where Winds Meet. Once you experience playing with friends, you likely won’t want to play alone for very long! Here’s a guide to getting your friends to join you.
How Does Multiplayer Work In Where Winds Meet?
![]()
Where Winds Meet offers several ways to enjoy multiplayer. You can quickly join the online map, though some quests and features won’t be available there. Alternatively, if you’re playing on the solo map, you can invite friends to join your world for a classic co-op experience.
How To Add Friends
You can add friends through the social menu, using either their username or user ID. Simply go to the friend tab within the social menu and choose the “add friend” option.
I can either look up players I already know, or just jump right into the online world and send friend requests to people I encounter while I’m playing. It’s a pretty standard way to build up my friends list!
How To Switch Between Solo And Multiplayer
You’ll see an icon at the top of your screen showing either a single character or a group. Tap this icon to switch between playing alone and playing online. When you choose the solo mode, you won’t see other players unless you invite them specifically. The online mode lets you join a world filled with other adventurers!
It’s easy to switch between the two maps – just activate the one you want to use. Be aware that switching will instantly move you to the closest safe spot you’ve already discovered on that map. So, if you need to unlock a boundary stone nearby for quick travel, do that first!
While certain elements, such as wild horses and particular quests, aren’t accessible online, you can still experience them playing by yourself or with a friend.
How To Use Co-Op Matchmaking
You can start playing with friends by finding the co-op option in the same place you select the online map. From there, choose to create a game – you can invite up to five players to join you and explore the solo map together as a team.
As you play through the game with friends, you’ll get adventure slips, which you can trade for new items in the shop.
Even if you’re playing separate co-op games, you can still team up with other players and continue exploring as if you were in a solo game.
How To Assist Other Players
If other players are having trouble with a boss or puzzle, they can use a special signal to ask for help. This lets you team up with them and finish the challenge together.
Just saying you’re willing to help doesn’t mean you’re teamed up yet. You’ll need to wait for them to approve your request before you can start playing together. Head to the matchmaking menu to find a partner and overcome any challenges you face!
Does Where Winds Meet Have Voice Chat?
Great news! You can now chat with other players using voice! When you’re in a public area like a guild base, open the chat menu and go to the Windtail Lounge. From there, you can open or join voice chat rooms to start talking with everyone.
Honestly, I love that I can just hit back whenever I’m messing around in the menus. And if my mic isn’t working right, it’s super easy to adjust the settings right there too.
