Persona 3 Reload Shows Off New Costumes For Metis

Key Takeaways

  • Atlus teased new extra costumes for Metis in the upcoming Episode Aigis DLC.
  • Metis replaces Aigis as a new party member in The Answer, sporting various cosmetic costumes.
  • Metis will have a new voice actor in the English dub of Persona 3 Reload.

As a long-time fan of the Persona series, I can’t help but feel a surge of nostalgia when Atlus announces new content for one of my favorite characters – Metis! It’s been over 17 years since she first graced our screens in Persona 3 FES, and now, here she is, back with a vengeance in the upcoming Episode Aigis: The Answer DLC for Persona 3 Reload.

Prior to the unveiling of additional costumes for Metis in the Episode Aigis: The Answer DLC of “Persona 3 Reload”, Atlus has given fans a sneak peek. This DLC, titled Episode Aigis: The Answer, is an extra playable episode that unfolds post-launch and continues the storyline after the events in “Persona 3 Reload”. The narrative of this DLC revolves around Aigis, who discovers her newfound power, the Wild Card, which allows her to summon multiple Personas like the main character did previously. As a result, Aigis along with SEES become ensnared within an endless time loop that unfolds beneath Iwatodai Dorm, where they encounter a novel Anti-Shadow Weapon named Metis.

In The Answer, Metis joins as a fresh party member taking over the role previously held by Aigis, who is now portraying the Wild Card user from Persona 3. Metis and Aigis share a unique connection as they are both Anti-Shadow Weapons, and Metis holds a special affection for her “sister.” It’s worth mentioning that this is Metis’ first appearance in more than seventeen years; she had only made an appearance once before in FES, and has not been featured in any spin-offs or updated versions of Persona 3 until now. For the Reload edition, Metis will have the ability to wear multiple cosmetic outfits, similar to other members of SEES.

These costumes were briefly showcased in a new video posted to the official Persona Twitter account. In this clip, Metis can be seen wearing a maid costume, the Ultramarine outfit, and an outfit based on one of Persona 5‘s Phantom Thieves. Every single female party member in Reload can wear a maid costume, so Metis being able to wear it too is consistent with other party members. Metis’ Ultramarine outfit is based on one of the Velvet Room attendants, with hers being based on Elizabeth. Lastly, Metis’ Phantom Thief-themed attire is based on Kasumi Yoshizawa from Persona 5 Royal, wearing a black leotard and mask.

Metis’ Costumes In Persona 3 Reload’s Expansion Pass

As a die-hard fan of Persona 3 Reload, I’m thrilled to share that Lizzie Freeman will be stepping into the shoes of Metis, replacing Stephanie Sheh in the English dub. On the other hand, for Japanese audio enthusiasts like myself, Chiwa Saito is back after a 17-year hiatus to reprise her role as Metis. The Episode Aigis DLC has us all buzzing with anticipation, as it promises to deepen the interactions between Metis and the party compared to her original portrayal in FES. Can’t wait to see how these changes will enrich the experience!

To enjoy the Episode Aigis DLC, players need the Expansion Pass for Persona 3 Reload. This means that fans can’t buy the story DLC separately. The Expansion Pass, which already includes post-launch content, offers an additional battle against Joker, the protagonist of Persona 5, making it more than just The Answer’s story for fans. They get to challenge a beloved character. The release date for The Answer DLC is set for September 10, 2024, when it will be added to the Expansion Pass.
