Any new look at the upcoming Resident Evil Requiem is exciting for fans. While the initial gameplay reveal happened at a Japanese event, a video of the footage has now been released, giving everyone a glimpse of what to expect.
Resident Evil Requiem is just the latest exciting game announcement for what’s shaping up to be a huge 2026. This new installment in the popular survival horror series puts players in control of Grace Ashcroft. We already know how Grace is different from past heroes, and a recent gameplay clip shows her in action, which is really impressive.
Exclusive Resident Evil Requiem Gameplay Revealed
Dusk Golem, a trusted source of gaming news, posted a video of previously unseen gameplay from the Resident Evil Requiem demo. The footage shows Grace battling a zombie in a new area, and comes from a special Resident Evil broadcast that aired on TV in Japan.
A short, 34-second video demonstrates a new feature in the game: the ability to quickly switch between first-person and third-person perspectives. The video shows the character Grace fighting zombies with a pistol. Playing in first-person appears much scarier, more confined, and more intense than in third-person, likely explaining why the upcoming Resident Evil 9 uses a third-person camera angle.
The indoor areas look completely fresh and different from anything we’ve seen in previous gameplay or trailers.
Dusk Golem explains that this advertisement is only available in Japan, and is therefore the censored version of the game. While it still shows some blood and violent effects, they’re likely toned down compared to what will be in the worldwide release.

It feels much more like the atmosphere of Resident Evil 2 Remake and Resident Evil 7, which will please players who didn’t enjoy the more action-focused and open-world style of Resident Evil 8.
