ARC Raiders offers players a wide variety of weapons, though some are clearly better than others. While many weapons excel in specific situations – like battling large Arcs or other players – a few underrated guns can actually hold their own against the top-tier options. With the right attachments and upgrades to tier four, these overlooked weapons become surprisingly effective.
Basically, any gun can be effective in a fight for loot. Whether you’re starting with nothing or fully equipped, there are several good options that can perform just as well as the most popular, highly sought-after weapons.
Hairpin
The Perfect Stealth Weapon
Details:
- Stealthy sidearm option with decent headshot damage
- Way faster fire rate at max level
Most players consider the Hairpin to be a weak weapon, especially for taking down Arcs. Its slow firing rate can feel clunky during fast-paced fights. However, with upgrades, it can become a surprisingly effective stealth weapon thanks to its silencer.
Since it takes several headshots to defeat a well-protected opponent, getting those initial shots off without being seen can make the pistol surprisingly effective. By the time the enemy realizes what’s happening, they’ll be severely wounded and at a major disadvantage – they won’t know where the fire is coming from, and likely won’t have time to react before taking fatal damage.
Burletta
Tearing Through Players With A Single Clip
Details:
- Huge mag size potential
- Fast shots for multiple targets
Okay, so the Burletta pistol is seriously underrated. Everyone always goes for the Anvil or Venator, but with the Venator getting nerfed, I think it’s time people gave the Burletta a real look. It’s way cheaper, and honestly, it can hold its own in a fight, especially up close or at a medium range. I’m definitely adding it to my loadout now!
Many players are caught off guard by how powerful headshots are with this weapon. Combine that with an extended magazine, and you’ve got a surprisingly effective gun that can quickly eliminate an entire team of enemies without needing to reload. In many cases, using this pistol as a backup to an SMG like the Osprey or Ferro is actually better – while those SMGs are good, they don’t quite match the sheer power of this small but mighty pistol.
Torrente
Shredding Anything That Gets Close
Details:
- Fast fire rate, perfect for close-quarters
- Very good against stationary Arcs
The Torrente stands out from other weapons in ARC Raiders. As the only true Light Machine Gun, it has a slower reload speed due to its large magazine. However, this drawback becomes less noticeable as players upgrade the weapon.
The Torrente deals incredibly high damage, making it one of the fastest weapons for eliminating opponents – it can take a player from full health to zero in under a second. While it’s definitely worth trying out, maximizing its upgrades and adding attachments to improve stability are crucial. In close-quarters PvP combat, very few weapons can compete with a fully upgraded Torrente.
Stitcher
The Kettle’s Faster Brother
Details:
- Similar time to kill as Kettle vs Light/Medium shields
- Way faster fire rate and reload speed at rank four
The Stitcher and Kettle are very similar weapons, but they excel in different situations. The Kettle is better for dealing big, single hits, while the Stitcher fires faster, making it stronger in close-quarters combat like indoor fights. Though the Kettle is a popular choice for raids, the Stitcher can be surprisingly effective, quickly eliminating opponents and performing well against groups.
The Stitcher reloads much faster than the Kettle, and upgrades make that speed even better. While it technically deals more damage per second, armor doesn’t affect the damage difference between the two guns very much. With the right upgrades and a fast-paced playstyle, the Stitcher can be a top-tier PvP weapon, despite initially appearing weaker than others.
Il Toro
Demolishing Teams In Seconds
Details:
- Two or three shot any target up close, even to the body
- Perfect for Stella Montis
The Il Toro shotgun is incredibly powerful in the right situation. While shotguns aren’t always the best choice in Escape from Tarkov, they really shine in areas with lots of loot and on indoor maps like Stella Montis, where fights happen at close range.
This weapon excels at dealing massive close-range damage, quickly eliminating opponents who get caught in its full blast. While its effective range decreases with distance, it remains surprisingly powerful at moderate ranges. What really sets it apart are the attachments. Players can equip a silencer for stealth, or use stocks to dramatically increase how quickly they draw and fire the weapon, letting them eliminate enemies up close before they can react.
