Okay, so Escape from Tarkov officially launched with 1.0 a little while back in November, but Battlestate Games isn’t stopping there. They’ve got a ton planned! We’re talking DLC, potentially even more games set in the Tarkov world, and they’re promising to keep updating the core game regularly. I’m especially hyped about the idea of dynamic weather – that’s going to really change things up!
According to a recent announcement from Battlestate Games’ Nikita Buyanov, the next seasonal update will arrive on December 10th. The biggest change? Snow! Tarkov will be covered in a beautiful white layer, and players can expect to hear plenty of satisfying crunching sounds as they move through it.
Snow is Coming Back to Tarkov
As a Tarkov player, I have to say snow is really divisive! Some of us absolutely love it – it makes the game look amazing, honestly. But for others, it’s a huge pain. It makes it hard to choose what you wear because everything gets covered up, and the sound of walking in the snow is way too loud, making it tough to hear enemies. It really changes how you play!
Whether you’re excited about snow in Escape from Tarkov or not, it’s definitely on its way and will arrive very soon.
Nikita Buyanov, the studio head at Battlestate Games, announced on social media that snow will be added to the game on December 10th.

Snow has been a regular feature in Escape from Tarkov for several years, returning each winter as part of the game’s seasonal updates. Battlestate Games consistently changes the game’s visuals and atmosphere to match the time of year – transitioning from summer to autumn, then winter to spring – by altering foliage, sounds, and weather.
