ARC Raiders Disables Hidden Bunker Map Modifier

The developers of ARC Raiders, Embark Studios, have temporarily removed the Hidden Bunker map modifier while they work on fixing a major glitch. This glitch was ruining the event for many players, making it unplayable. The Hidden Bunker is one of the game’s smaller, limited-time events, but it’s currently unavailable while the issue is addressed.

Embark Studios was founded in 2018 by people who previously worked on the popular Battlefield series, along with other experienced game developers. Their first game, The Finals, did well, and this year they released ARC Raiders, a shooter where players try to extract items. Even though ARC Raiders came out between new releases in the massive Battlefield and Call of Duty franchises, it’s become a huge hit on Steam. The game consistently ranks among the platform’s most-played titles, with around 300,000 to 400,000 players online at peak times – more than games like Battlefield 6, Apex Legends, and Call of Duty.

ARC Raiders Disabled Hidden Bunker Map Modifier

Despite positive reviews and a large player base, the game ARC Raiders has continued to face challenges. Recently, a serious exploit was discovered, forcing the developers at Embark to temporarily remove the Hidden Bunker map modifier. In a message on the official ARC Raiders Discord server, a studio representative explained the change was made to prevent players from taking unfair advantage of the exploit. While Embark hasn’t revealed the details of the exploit, they are working on a fix, and haven’t announced when the map modifier will be available again.

The Hidden Bunker is a special, rotating event in ARC Raiders that appears at the Spaceport location. It’s different from other events because it unlocks access to an underground bunker system. To open the bunker, players need to activate all the antenna dishes on the rooftops around the map. Players can work together or individually to get this done, and once they do, they’ll be able to explore the bunker and find valuable loot.

Embark hasn’t revealed the exact problem that caused them to remove the modifier, but it’s likely another bug letting players escape the game map. While these glitches are always disruptive, players exploiting it in the Hidden Bunker were able to access the area without completing the intended challenges, spoiling the experience for others.

Unfortunately, this is just one of several exploits that have been happening frequently in ARC Raiders recently. The game’s newest map, Stella Montis, currently has a glitch that lets players leave the playable area, and the same problem exists on Blue Gate. These glitches allow players to go outside the map and eliminate others without any risk to themselves. This is a serious issue in ARC Raiders because dying means losing all your collected gear and loot.

Embark has been actively addressing problems as they appear. They recently released an update for ARC Raiders that received a lot of positive feedback. The update added a system to discourage players from exploiting a glitch that allowed them to access locked areas without a keycard. While the glitch still technically works, players who attempt it will now be instantly set ablaze.
