Steam lets users sort their games by categories like single-player, multiplayer, and co-op, but the co-op section combines both online and local games. This means players often have to check each game’s details on the store page to see if it supports split-screen or couch co-op. While Steam uses tags to help with other features like dynamic libraries, this system isn’t perfect. Many tags are added by users, so they aren’t always accurate.

The following games offer a slightly different experience. While some still involve combat, the real strength comes from gathering and using information. This information takes different forms in each game, but the core idea is consistent: simply fighting won’t be enough to win. You’ll need to learn about the game world and then use that knowledge to progress and overcome challenges.

Stardew Valley initially launched in 2016 and has been significantly updated and improved ever since. Although the developer is now primarily working on a new game called Haunted Chocolatier, Stardew Valley still receives updates that address issues, enhance gameplay, and introduce fresh content. The game arrived on Nintendo Switch in 2017, and fans with the new Switch 2 console were excited to find that Stardew Valley was available to play on it this Christmas.

Despite often being criticized, the isekai genre has produced a surprising number of excellent anime. It’s given us everything from fun, lighthearted comedies and moving dramas to truly beautiful animated series. While many isekai shows are just okay, the very best ones from the 2020s are exceptional and stand out even within the genre.

Despite the challenges, many developers are still creating new games. Several upcoming first-person action games aim to redefine the genre. While some include shooting, these games aren’t just shooters – they also feature things like hand-to-hand combat or special abilities, adding more variety to the gameplay.

As a long-time Pokémon fan, I’ve always loved Shiny Pokémon – they’re just so cool and hard to find! It’s been interesting watching how rare they’ve been throughout the different games. I’ve heard that Pokémon Legends: Z-A has some new ways to make finding them a little easier, but it still mostly comes down to luck. Because they’re so rare, I’d never think to just give one away to a random character in the game – that would be crazy!
