Xbox Version of New Soulslike Delayed at the Last Minute

Key Takeaways

  • The Xbox version of Enotria: The Last Song has been indefinitely delayed.
  • The game was originally meant to reach the Xbox Series X/S on September 19.
  • Developer Jyamma Games blamed Microsoft for the delay, stating that the Xbox version of the soulslike is ready for submission, but that Microsoft has been dragging its feet with the submission process.

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of gaming under my belt, I must admit that delays are nothing new to me. However, the recent indefinite delay of Enotria: The Last Song for Xbox has left me quite puzzled. Having eagerly awaited its arrival on current-generation consoles, this latest development is a bit disheartening.

It seems that the release of Enotria: The Last Song on the Xbox has been pushed back from its initial mid-September 2024 date.

As an eager fan, I can’t contain my excitement about “Enotria: The Last Song,” a soulslike game that immerses players in a captivating fantasy world influenced by Italian folklore, announced back in September 2021. Recently, the developer, Jyamma Games based in Milan, has firmly set a release date – September 19, 2024. I can hardly wait!

Enotria: The Last Song Xbox Version Hit With Indefinite Delay

The game “Enotria: The Last Song” for Xbox, which we had planned to release, has experienced an unexpected delay in its launch due to complications during the submission process on the Xbox Store. Although our team has worked diligently towards this goal, unforeseen challenges have arisen and Microsoft’s response time has been lengthy. Despite some fan theories linking the delay to the Xbox Series S, it appears that the console is not the cause of the setback. Instead, the issue lies with the submission process itself, which has taken months to resolve, even though the Xbox Series X/S version of the game is already prepared.

Enotria: The Last Song Xbox Version Plans Have Already Changed Several Times

In the company’s Discord server, Jacky Greco, CEO of Jyamma, directly stated that Microsoft had chosen to disregard the developer regarding the delay of the Enotria: The Last Song Xbox port. This isn’t the first time Jyamma has altered its plans for this Xbox port; it was initially scheduled for release in March 2024 but suspended due to a delay. However, the developer later decided on a simultaneous launch across PC, PlayStation, and Xbox platforms. After that announcement, they have now delayed the game’s Xbox version indefinitely.

Due to some unforeseen hurdles we’ve faced along the way, our diligent team and I have had to push back the launch of our product on the Xbox platform.

The digital release of “Enotria: The Last Song” is set for September 19th. It’s been confirmed that the PS5 version, classified as a soulslike game, will have a physical edition available a few months later. Unfortunately, the Xbox release has been pushed back, a decision not made lightly but one beyond the company’s control. Despite this setback, the studio remains committed to making the game accessible to as many players as possible. The delay was announced shortly following a captivating two-minute trailer for “Enotria: The Last Song” at Gamescom 2024.
