Cast Outs Reveal Trailer Drops, Features Developers From Closed Sony London Studio Team

Sony’s London Studio has been restructured and renamed Twisted Works with a smaller team. They’ve announced a new game, Cast Outs, which appears to be very similar to a project the original studio previously cancelled.

PlayStation’s London Studio, known for creating innovative games using accessories like the EyeToy and PlayStation VR, sadly closed its doors last May after two decades. However, many former London Studio employees have joined Twisted Works and are now developing a new game called Cast Outs.

London Studio Developers Return To Finish What They Started

After London Studio shut down in 2024, it was revealed that they had been developing a PlayStation 5 game that was ultimately canceled.

Cast Outs is an online cooperative game set in a fantastical version of London. Players will use magical abilities and spells to progress. Here’s how the developers, Twisted Works, described it:

Cast Outs delivers thrilling magical combat that feels both powerful and fast-paced, like a mix of hand-to-hand fighting and shooting games. Team up with friends – it’s designed for cooperative play, no matter your experience level! Enjoy a blend of instant fun and intense action, perfect for playing together.

As a big fan, I’m getting seriously excited! A lot of what I’ve seen and heard from the developers feels like the original game they had to cancel years ago, which is fantastic. It sounds like things are really coming together – they’re even talking about letting us play an early version sometime in early 2027! That means development is clearly going really well, and a beta is just around the corner. I can’t wait!

You can see the reveal trailer for yourself.
