How to Get Fire Shot High Heat Weapon in Metroid Prime 4

Throughout your journey in Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, Samus will find many helpful weapons and upgrades. The first of these is the Fire Shot, a powerful new ability that lets you melt enemies, break ice, and destroy Fire Blockers – those obstacles you’ve probably run into already. This guide will walk you through how to unlock the Fire Shot and use it to overcome those pesky Fire Blockers in Metroid Prime 4.

Where to Get Fire Shot in Metroid Prime 4: Beyond

Complete Fury Green & Volt Forge First:

To get the Fire Shot upgrade in Metroid Prime 4, you’ll need to finish the first two main areas of the game: Fury Green and Volt Forge. You must complete these dungeons before you can start looking for the upgrade.

After finishing Volt Forge – or as much of it as you can on your first playthrough – you’ll be able to explore Sol Valley, the large desert area featured prominently in the game’s trailers. Similar to many Metroid games, it will seem like you have a lot of freedom. However, once you leave Volt Forge, there’s really only one main path to follow.

You can go back to Fury Green to get items from the Psychic Boots and Psychic Bomb if you want. But since you’ll need to revisit Fury Green after Flare Pool to get the Fire Chip, it’s best to wait until you have the Fire Shot before returning to the first main dungeon.

How to Get the Fire Chip in Metroid Prime 4:

This new game changes how you get upgrades. Instead of finding a weapon directly in a dungeon, you’ll first need to locate a data chip containing its blueprints. For example, to get the Fire weapon, you’ll find the Fire Chip data in the Flare Pool dungeon, which is in the southeast part of the map.

When you get to Flare Pool, use the Vi-O-La cycle on the spinning platform to open the main entrance. Once inside, there’s only one route to follow, and it leads to a scene where Samus tries to cross a bridge. Suddenly, the bridge collapses – seemingly caused by Sylax – and Samus has to fall back.

You can’t cross the lava under the bridge yet, meaning you’ll have to leave Flare Pool until you upgrade Samus’ suit. Once you exit the main area, you’ll find a door that was previously locked is now open, and robots will start appearing. After defeating them, go through the door and follow the path to the end.

As you reach the end of the path, you’ll find a big room with a crane extending over the center. Look for a red light at the end of the crane’s arm. You can reach the crane itself by jumping onto platforms around the room.

After reaching the top of the crane, transform into the Morph Ball and use Psychic Bombs to access the narrow path leading to the crane’s end. Once there, use another Psychic Bomb to make the machinery at the tip fall. This will trigger a short cutscene showing the glowing item has been released.

Go up to the glowing object and press the action button. This will give you the Fire Chip, which is what you need to get the Fire Shot. After that, leave the Flare Pool area, and you’ll receive a message from Myles asking you to head back to the base camp in Fury Green.

How to Unlock the Fire Shot Weapon in Metroid Prime 4:

Inside Fury Green’s main room, you’ll find a Cargo Launcher. This lets you quickly travel to a launcher located near Base Camp.

On the map, you’ll find a small flag marking Myles’ location. Go to that room and give him the chip. He’ll unlock the Fire Shot for you, opening up many new areas to explore.

How to Get Past Fire Blockers & Webbing in Metroid Prime 4:

Okay, so once you get the Fire Shot, it’s super easy! You just shoot one shot at those Fire Blockers – whether it’s the locks or the webbing – and boom, they instantly burn up. That opens up whatever they were blocking, which is awesome!
