Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 Should Expand Mideel Chapter

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of gaming under my belt, I can confidently say that the Final Fantasy 7 Remake Project has been a rollercoaster ride of emotions and excitement. Having lived through the original release of Final Fantasy 7 back in 1997, I can attest to the impact it had on me and countless others. So, when it comes to discussing the upcoming Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3, I’m as excited as a kid on Christmas morning.

In the thrilling finale of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, players are guided towards the climactic showdown against Sephiroth. Yet, there are numerous iconic moments and locales from the 1997 version that this sequel must still bring to life. The climax of Rebirth was a whirlwind, emphasizing original features like multiple timelines, fate changes, and extraordinary team-ups. With several plot threads unresolved in Rebirth, it’s likely that the Final Fantasy 7 Remake Project’s last chapter will need to adjust or omit certain segments from the original Final Fantasy 7. Although some parts might not be crucial for the Remake Project’s narrative, the Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 can’t compromise on any part of the original game.

The reimagined version of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth creatively reinvented some of the most memorable and poignant scenes from the original game, paving the way for an exhilarating conclusion in Part 3. Notably, the remake employed flashbacks, parallel timelines, and fresh characters to flesh out and expand character development and introduce intriguing new elements. Among these highlights are instances where a significant character is narrating a story, rendered unconscious or otherwise held captive, transforming quieter sections of the original game into pivotal moments for the Remake series’ plot. In the section of the original game that will be featured in Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3, there is a particular scene that offers an excellent chance to maintain this pattern.

FF7 Remake Part 3 Needs to Take its Time in Mideel

In the original “Final Fantasy 7,” I plunge into the Lifestream after encountering “That Which Awaits in the Frozen Realm.” Later, I’m discovered and admitted to Mideel’s hospital, leaving my comrades in a vegetative state due to Mako contamination. This event sets the stage for a substantial chunk of “Final Fantasy 7,” during which other party members take center stage. Tifa remains by my side, but the others venture to North Corel and Fort Condor, clashing with Shinra over the Huge Materia. A sequence of earthquakes ensues, causing Mideel, Tifa, and I to be submerged in a Lifestream fragment. While there, Tifa delves into my subconscious, helping her reconstruct my memories and recall my genuine past.

In the third installment of Final Fantasy 7 Remake, it’s crucial to maximize the opportunities presented by Mideel and Cloud’s hospitalization. This part of the game provides an ideal setting for the Remake Project’s distinctive storytelling style. By having a party without Cloud, other characters can shine and their individual stories can unfold. Given that Rebirth ended with a time-travel finale, Part 3 could feature exclusive dialogues, events, and surprises during this segment. Additionally, since Cid Highwind led the pursuit of the Huge Materia in the original 1997 Final Fantasy 7, it would be fitting to have a playable Cid in Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 when the party is under his leadership.

FF7 Remake Part 3’s Mideel Could Feature a New Arc for Cloud

In the upcoming third part of Final Fantasy 7 Remake, there’s a possibility that more attention might shift back to Cloud. This section could deviate from the original game by providing an opportunity to delve deeper into Cloud’s past. During Cloud’s vegetative state, Part 3 may include another flashback chapter from Final Fantasy 7, offering players a greater understanding of Cloud’s true background and identity. Additionally, Cloud might investigate alternate histories in this part, as these divergent paths were taken by previous iterations to decipher which events are factual. Tifa could join in this exploration, turning the segment into a collaborative effort to piece together Cloud’s memories, ultimately leading to his restoration in the present.

In an alternative scenario, Cloud from Part 3 might drift into a completely different timeline, much like he did with Aerith in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. If this were to happen, he could find himself in another dimension after his initial dive into the Lifestream, which may lead him to encounter Zack once more. Mideel plays a pivotal role in the original Final Fantasy 7, as its significance to the storyline and character development of our protagonists sets the stage for the climactic events of the game. Given these factors and the possibility of fresh content, it’s convincing to argue that Mideel deserves a thorough examination in Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3.
