Katsuhiro Harada Leaves Bandai Namco After 30 Years
Harada announced his departure in an online statement, explaining it followed a difficult time personally and professionally. He shared that the loss of close friends and seeing colleagues retire or pass away led him to think about his future and how much time he had left to create. After spending years building the Tekken universe and its characters, he felt it was the right time to step down and begin a new chapter.
He reminisced about starting his career at Bandai Namco, remembering when he first competed in local Japanese arcades and how both he and the Tekken franchise grew over the years. He expressed his gratitude to fans for their continued support and promised to share more about what he’s planning next soon.

Following his announcement, the Tekken team released a statement to reassure players that Katsuhiro Harada’s departure won’t affect the development of Tekken 8 or future plans.
