He shared that the loss of close friends and seeing colleagues retire or pass away led him to think about his future and how much time he had left to create. After spending years building the Tekken universe and its characters, he felt it was the right time to step down and begin a new chapter.

He reminisced about starting his career at Bandai Namco, remembering when he first competed in local Japanese arcades and how both he and the Tekken franchise grew over the years.
