These items are collected throughout gameplay to transform the abilities of the character you’re currently using. To become The Heretic, players must accumulate all four items, which will then replace the standard skills of the chosen survivor (primary, secondary, utility, and special). Players have the option to use these items individually if they wish to change only one specific ability.

Visions of Heresy gives the player a primary that fires a flurry of tracking projectiles that detonate after a short delay. However, shield regeneration happens faster than health regeneration, which could be a viable option if they struggle to boost their health regeneration rate.

Transcendence pushes the boundaries, transforming virtually all health points into quickly replenishable shields. This significantly boosts the character’s durability during gameplay. However, it renders healing items largely ineffective due to the player having just 1 health point remaining. In the absence of effective health restoration items, this could be an ideal choice for someone aiming to extend their playtime. With sufficient mobility, the character can come close to being invincible. This item also makes encounters with malachite enemies less challenging because shield regeneration isn’t impacted – only health recovery is affected.

3 Spinel Tonic

One of the few Lunar equipment pieces in the game, Spinel Tonic, is exceptionally beneficial for a player at the start of a run. However, there’s a slight possibility that the user might encounter the Affliction Effect from the Tonic, an indelible condition that mildly decreases all stats by 5% per stack.

However, if the player manages to make a build around the Spinel Tonic such that it is always active, they won’t have to worry about the downside at all. The cooldown on this equipment is 60s, but with the Gesture of the Drowned, it is reduced to 30s. The equipment remains active for 20s, meaning players will only need one gesture of the drowned and 3 Fuel Cells to keep this equipment active at all times.

2 Focused Convergence

Reduce Size, Increase Speed

It can be quite frustrating when you clear a level early and then have to wait for the teleporter activation time to gradually increase, ticking up one point at a time. If the game is set to 90 seconds, it will take this long if the player remains in the teleporter without leaving. However, with a strong character build, the player should be able to defeat the teleporter boss much quicker than that. Additionally, the other enemies are not particularly challenging.

In this game situation, the teleporter taking a long time to recharge can feel tedious and detract from the overall fun. However, Focused Convergence offers a solution by speeding up the charging process by 30%. The catch is that it reduces the teleporter’s zone size in half. If a player manages to complete the run successfully, this trade-off won’t be problematic at all, making Focused Convergence a beneficial item without any significant drawbacks. On the other hand, if a player struggles to defeat the boss quickly, whether they have Focused Convergence or not doesn’t impact their progress significantly either way.

However, the downside is that the Gesture of the Drowned also forcefully activates your equipment every time the cool down runs out. With a mixture of Gestures of the Drowned and Fuel Cells, players can make a build where their equipment is always active with no downtime at all, creating an incredibly fun playstyle regardless of the equipment they have.
