Awaken Realms is releasing a new expansion for Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon called “Sanctuary of Sarras” on December 15th. It will cost $14.99. A free update (version 1.15) and bonus content are also available to download now.
Here is an overview of all the new content, via Awaken Realms:
■ Version 1.15 Update
We’ve just released Patch 1.15 on Steam! Our main focus with this update was improving performance on all platforms, and we’ll get into the details of all the changes below.
I’ve been playing the game a lot, and the team has been working hard under the hood to make it run smoother. This new patch should make a big difference, especially for Xbox players. We’ve seen around 20 or more extra frames per second in our tests, which is awesome! It should just feel a lot more responsive now.
These changes will likely improve performance, especially on older or less powerful computers, though your specific hardware always plays a big role. While players with newer, high-end PCs may not notice a huge difference, the game should run more smoothly for everyone. We’ve seen around a 2-3 frames-per-second improvement in our testing on both the Steam Deck and PlayStation 5.
We’re working hard to improve the PlayStation 5 version of the game, but we’re running into some technical challenges. These issues are largely due to how the Unity game engine handles graphics and memory on the PS5, which are things we can’t directly control. It makes fixing problems difficult, but we’re actively investigating and rewriting parts of the game to find solutions.
We’ve made good progress in reducing crashes during our testing, and we plan to release an update addressing these issues around the time Sarras launches. This update will be available to all players, not just those who purchase Sarras.
We’re still working hard to improve how PlayStation 5 games run, and we’re doing everything we can to make things better. We hope to share some positive updates in February, though we can’t guarantee anything as some factors are outside of our control. This latest update should provide a slight improvement to performance and stability. We apologize for any issues you’ve been experiencing and appreciate your continued patience.
Now, for the rest of the patch notes!

■ “Sanctuary of Sarras” Expansion
We’re thrilled to reveal “Sanctuary of Sarras,” the major new expansion for Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon!
The “Sanctuary of Sarras” expansion releases on December 15, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. Eastern Time / 7:00 p.m. Central European Time on Steam and consoles. It’s coming out in just one week!
We’re calling this new adventure an ‘expansion’ rather than just ‘downloadable content’ because we believe a full, new experience costing $15 deserves to be considered separately from smaller additions like cosmetic items.
Okay, cool, but what is “Sanctuary of Sarras” about?
Your adventure will lead you to Sarras, a mysterious sanctuary formed by the ocean depths. You’ll discover ancient ruins rising from swirling currents and hidden pathways teeming with life. However, be careful – as you delve deeper into this unknown place, the unsettling truth about Sarras will begin to reveal itself.
The story of Sarras and his rebellious crew has been lost in legend for six hundred years. Now, a secret discovery unlocks a journey into the past, allowing you to follow the path of Nimue and the soldiers who turned against King Arthur. Uncover the mystery of their vanishing and the terrible revenge taken by Merlin.
We’re essentially adding a major new chapter to the game, offering 10 to 15 hours of fresh gameplay. It will feature a brand new story, compelling characters, and plenty of side quests to explore. As we’ve said, a lot of new content is on the way, and here’s a sneak peek…
- Four new epic bosses.
- 12 unique regular enemies.
- more than 20 hand-crafted dungeons and interiors.
- Over 100 equipment pieces, including armor (#FashionGrail), melee weapons, bows, rings, amulets, spells, relics…
The update introduces a new way to improve your character! You’ll find sacred shrines that give you skill points to unlock abilities in three unique skill trees. You can develop all three trees simultaneously and switch between them whenever you like, letting you change how your character plays instantly and respond to any challenge.
You don’t have to beat the main game to explore the new expansion area! You can access the Sanctuary of Sarras simply by completing Act 2, Cuanacht.
How much will the expansion cost?
“Sanctuary of Sarras” will be available for $14.99 USD on Steam (or your regional equivalent).
More info about the expansion coming soon, so stay tuned!
■ Bonus Content Downloadable Content #1
We’re excited to announce we’re adding some bonus content to the main game, and it’s completely free! We think you’ll really enjoy it.
You will get five completely new armor sets, serving as rewards for your in-game achievements.
