How to Get Mega Sceptile in Pokémon Legends: Z-A—Sceptilite Location, Explained

Pokémon Legends: Z-A will feature more Pokémon that can Mega Evolve, like the starter Pokémon from the Hoenn region. However, unlocking the ability to Mega Evolve Sceptile and obtain the Sceptilite won’t be easy or happen quickly as you play the game.

Pokémon Legends: Z-A reintroduced the original Hoenn starter Pokémon, and even included their Mega Evolutions through the Mega Dimension DLC. However, you can catch these returning Pokémon without purchasing the DLC.

So, I was trying to find Mega Sceptile and its Mega Stone, the Sceptilite, and TopMob actually has everything you need to know about getting them. It’s a really helpful resource!

Where to Find Sceptilite & Get Mega Sceptile in Pokémon Legends: Z-A

In Pokémon Legends: Z-A, the Sceptilite item will be available only to players who participate in Ranked Online battles during Season 5. The specific dates for Season 5 haven’t been revealed yet.

Pokémon Legends: Z-A seasons typically last about three weeks. Season 4 starts on December 18th, so we anticipate Season 5 – and the availability of the Sceptilite item – will begin around mid-January. Like previous seasons, reaching Rank S will probably be necessary to obtain the Mega Stone.

Once Season 5 starts, you won’t be able to get Mega Sceptile through normal gameplay, but you don’t need to buy the Mega Dimension DLC or even have Sceptile to get it. You can always trade with other players to receive Sceptile or any of the Pokémon added in the DLC.

Will Sceptilite be Available Again?

Just like previous Mega Stones given away through Ranked Online, these will likely be available again in the future, probably through a similar method of earning them.

In Season 3, the top rewards from the previous two seasons – Greninjite and Delphoxite – became available to players at lower ranks. We expect that Chesnaughtite and Baxcalibrite, which were the main rewards in Seasons 3 and 4, will be added as prizes when Season 5 begins.

It’s probably going to be difficult to get Sceptilite and Mega Sceptile just by playing the game normally. It looks like these items are meant to be earned through Ranked battles. This means you’ll need a Nintendo Switch Online subscription to unlock all the Mega Evolution Pokémon in Legends: Z-A.
