You can make certain items during battles while exploring Topside in ARC Raiders, but you’ll need to unlock this ability first. It’s done by spending skill points. Here’s how to do it:

How to Craft While Topside

To craft items during raids in ARC Raiders, you first need to unlock the In-Round Crafting skill in the Survival skill tree. This will add a “Craft” button to your inventory when you’re exploring the surface. When you’re in a match, press TAB to open your inventory and see the Craft option. Keep in mind that you’ll need to collect the necessary materials to create each item.

Making items during a match can be a bit slow. You have to craft each item individually, as there’s no way to make multiple at once. Despite this, the ability to quickly create essential items like bandages and shield rechargers makes In-Round Crafting a valuable skill in ARC Raiders.

Field-Crafting Skills Explained

The Survival skill tree features two important abilities for crafting during matches: In-Round Crafting lets you craft items mid-game, while Traveling Tinkerer increases your crafting options.

In-Round Crafting

Once you invest a few Skill Points into the Survival skill tree, you’ll be able to craft items during gameplay while exploring the surface. Initially, you can only make simple items, but by unlocking the Traveling Tinkerer skill, you’ll expand the range of things you can craft.

Traveling Tinkerer

Once you progress far enough in the Survival skill tree – specifically, after unlocking the second major ability – you’ll gain the Traveling Tinkerer skill. This adds seven new crafting recipes, letting you create helpful items like the Raider Hatch Key and Herbal Bandages, which weren’t possible before.

Reaching the second node of the Survival skill tree requires 15 points.

Tips for Crafting Items Mid-Match

Make the most of Fabrics. If you are out of Bandages, all you need is five pieces of Fabric to craft one. Use this to your advantage while Topside.
Exploit salvaging. If you don’t have the ingredients needed for specific items, salvage unwanted stuff in your inventory to get some.
Check the Craft menu when trapped. Many players forget that they can make things mid-match, so be sure to check your inventory whenever the enemy or the ARC is pushing you, because you may be able to save the day with the items you can craft.
