As a seasoned gamer with decades of experience under my belt, I must say that the latest update for this game is nothing short of a revelation! The adjustments to the general spawn logic have made the gameplay more dynamic and unpredictable, which adds an exciting layer of strategy to the mix.

The new update for the ongoing beta of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is now available, featuring numerous enhancements, alterations, and refinements to gameplay, enhancing the latest installment in the popular franchise. Among the changes are fresh Scorestreaks, perks, and gear, along with adjustments to weapon functionality. This update coincides with the start of the second phase of the Black Ops 6 beta, granting gamers a brief window to test the game before its launch later in 2021.

I’m pumped up for Treyarch’s Black Ops 6, the next installment in their iconic Black Ops series, where they’re back at it again! As a fan, I can’t wait to see familiar elements return and experience all the fresh content they’ve cooked up. The game’s new movement system and Zombies experience have got everyone talking, and during the beta period, people were especially buzzing about the multiplayer. The Black Ops 6 beta started on August 30, giving us a sneak peek of what’s to come. It opened up to all players on September 6, with the second half of the trial just around the corner. Treyarch has recently disclosed some tweaks and changes that we should keep an eye on as we jump back in!

The newest beta update for the game title has tweaked nearly every aspect, including reducing the power of several weapons such as Black Ops 6’s Jackal PDW. This impressive submachine gun garnered attention shortly after the beta started, being one of the strongest weapons in Black Ops 6. But with this latest patch, the Jackal’s maximum damage, long-range damage, and minimum damage have all been scaled back.

As a dedicated fan, I’m thrilled to share that during the beta phase, the level cap was bumped up to an exciting 30! This means that us players could climb the ranks and reap some fantastic new rewards within Black Ops 6. Achieving level 30 in the beta grants you access to the sleek Tanto .22 SMG. The latest patch for Black Ops 6 has also given movement speed a significant boost, with weapon swap speeds slightly slowed down. However, Treyarch assures us that the Fast Hands Strategist perk will make swapping even quicker in future updates.

The second part of the Black Ops 6 beta concludes on September 9 and is accessible to all gamers, unlike the initial phase which was restricted to those who preordered the game or had an Xbox Game Pass subscription. In contrast to the first half, the beta has garnered immense interest, with countless players testing out Treyarch’s latest creation, even though several game elements are yet to be revealed until the official launch. Additionally, Black Ops 6 will introduce two fresh Zombies maps at its debut, along with a completely new campaign.

Weapon Swap Speeds

Based on the input we’ve received regarding weapon swapping speeds, we concur and are making a change. We’re planning to decrease the drop times of all weapons for a general improvement in swap speed. For those seeking an even faster swap speed, consider testing out the Fast Hands Strategist Perk during Week 2 of the Beta.

  • Assault Rifle, SMG, Shotgun, LMG, Marksman Rifle, Pistol, and Launcher drop times reduced by 50ms
  • Sniper drop times reduced by 100ms

Movement Speeds

As a gamer, I’m tweaking the base movement speeds of every weapon class to ensure a balanced playing field. The majority of these changes are focusing on regular movement and aim down sights (ADS) movement speeds, as they significantly impact combat situations.

In summary, we’re satisfied with how weapon classes have been utilized and performed during Beta Weekend 1, particularly the swift movement pace provided by SMGs. Therefore, our aim is to maintain the current state of SMGs while enhancing other classes. We’re cautious about making the game too fast-paced and will continue to analyze data and your feedback to ensure a balanced gaming experience.

Another significant adjustment involves the speed at which characters can sprint while wielding melee weapons. Our goal is to make it appealing for players to use their specialized melee tools for moving across maps. Additionally, we want to ensure that melee users can keep pace with other players who are using ranged weapons for strategic Body Shields and Final Moves.

Weapon Category Adjustments
Assault Rifles ADS Crouch Speed increased from 1.75m/s -> 1.88m/s Move Speed increased from 4.14m/s -> 4.29m/s ADS Move Speed increased from 3.07m/s -> 3.23m/s
SMGs Crouch Speed increased from 2.31m/s -> 2.77m/s
Shotguns ADS Crouch Speed increased from 1.63m/s -> 1.75m/s Move Speed increased from 4.14m/s -> 4.29m/s ADS Move Speed increased from 3.07m/s -> 3.23m/s
LMGs ADS Crouch Speed increased from 1.14m/s -> 1.3m/s Move Speed increased from 3.71m/s -> 3.86m/s ADS Move Speed increased from 2.31m/s -> 2.46m/s
Marksman Rifles Crouch Speed increased from 2.41m/s -> 2.49m/s ADS Crouch Speed increased from 1.37m/s -> 1.55m/s Move Speed increased from 3.76m/s -> 3.99m/s ADS Move Speed increased from 2.9m/s -> 3m/s

Weapon Adjustments

Jackal PDW

  • Decreased Maximum Damage from 29 -> 26
    • Decreased Maximum Damage range from 15.24m -> 14.61m
  • Decreased Near-Medium Damage from 23 -> 22
    • Decreased Near-Medium Damage range from 22.86m -> 17.78m
  • Decreased Medium Damage from 22 -> 18
    • Decreased Medium Damage range from 29.21m -> 26.04m
  • Decreased Minimum Damage from 19 -> 15
  • Small increase to view kick strength and view kick deviation.
  • CHF Barrel
    • Headshot multiplier improved from 1.2 -> 1.4

The Jackal PDW excels in maneuverability and control, but its rate of fire is relatively slower than most automatic weapons in the game. Due to its overperformance at medium ranges, we’ve boosted the damage drop-off and narrowed the effective range, as well as slightly enhancing the recoil. The maximum damage and CHF Barrel headshot multiplier for this weapon have been modified to preserve the same number of hits required to take down an opponent while using the attachment.

C9

  • Increased medium damage range from 25.4m -> 27.31m

We believe the C9 is well-balanced as a versatile Submachine Gun due to its reliable firing speed. It stands out by having more vertical kick than other Submachine Guns, and to compensate for this, we’ve increased its mid-range damage drop-off distance.

SWAT 5.56

  • Disabled burst fire queuing, which was queuing an additional burst if the fire input was activated at any time during the previous burst or the burst cooldown.

Attachments

  • The Rapid Fire attachment now correctly displays its recoil penalty con. The attachment description has also been updated to indicate the tradeoff.
