Key Takeaways

  • Nickmercs has reiterated his stance that Dr Disrespect‘s decision to send inappropriate messages to a minor is “inexcusable.”
  • The streamer suggested his decision to cut ties with Dr Disrespect is final.
  • Nickmercs has also thrown some derogatory insults at both Dr Disrespect and the disgraced streamer’s followers following his former collaborator’s comeback stream on September 6.

As a gamer who has been around the block a few times, I can’t help but shake my head at the antics of some of these so-called “streaming legends.” Take Dr Disrespect, for instance. The guy’s a talented streamer, no doubt, but his latest stunt has left a sour taste in my mouth.

Nick Kolcheff, more commonly known as Nickmercs online, has spoken critically about Herschel “Dr Disrespect” Beahm IV following the resumption of his YouTube streaming in early September. According to Nickmercs, his decision to end his partnership with the streamer before the YouTube comeback was final and non-reversible.

In June 2024, Dr Disrespect acknowledged sending inappropriate messages to a minor through the closed Twitch Whispers service back in 2017. This incident was cited as the cause of his permanent ban from Twitch in 2020, despite his claims that he had not broken any laws. He subsequently announced a break from streaming for a family vacation, returning in September 2024.

Nickmercs Calls Dr Disrespect’s Twitch Whispers Scandal ‘Inexcusable’

After Dr Disrespect resumed streaming, Nickmercs publicly criticized his long-time collaborator on Twitter. On September 7th, he stated that as a family man nearing 40, it was unforgivable for Dr Disrespect to send inappropriate messages to a minor. This incident led to him ending his friendship with Dr Disrespect, and he emphasized that this decision is permanent.

As a dedicated fan, I find it unfortunate and disheartening to acknowledge that the popular streamer Dr Disrespect, who is approaching his 40s and has a family, was involved in sending inappropriate texts to a minor. It’s crucial to emphasize that these are not my words but his own admission. Consequently, I chose to end our relationship because such actions are unforgivable. However, it seems like some users on this platform lack empathy and understanding, judging me harshly for not standing by him in this situation. It’s baffling how these individuals can display such a lack of compassion and common sense.

The tweet itself was seemingly primarily directed at some of Dr Disrespect’s fans who have been hounding Nickmercs for not defending the streamer in the aftermath of the Twitch Whispers scandal. While Nickmercs already called Dr Disrespect’s behavior “inexcusable” back in late June 2024, this follow-up also saw him throw some derogatory insults at both the streamer and his disgruntled followers. In a subsequent exchange with one Twitter user, Nickmercs said that Dr Disrespect previously contacted him and “the boys” to apologize for dragging them into this mess by association. “Regardless, it doesn’t matter,” Nickmercs concluded.

Dr Disrespect Says He Doesn’t ‘Claim To Be Perfect’ in Comeback Stream

In my excitement as I hopped back on stream on September 6th, Dr Disrespect made it clear that he doesn’t see himself as infallible, but he once again stood firm in asserting that he hasn’t broken any laws. He even called out Twitch for what he sees as their inconsistency, pointing out instances where other creators have skirted the platform’s rules without facing a ban. And to top it all off, during my return, I was thrilled to see over 230,000 viewers tuning in!

Dr Disrespect Intends to Reapply for YouTube Partner Program Soon

A few weeks following his confession about sending inappropriate Twitch messages to a minor, Dr Disrespect got removed from the YouTube Partner Program in late June. During his stream on September 6, this content creator spoke about the situation and mentioned that he’s eligible to reapply for the program, disclosing that he intends to submit a new application on September 25.
