Astro Bot Funky Fungi Collectibles

As a seasoned gamer with a soft spot for creative and immersive gaming experiences, I must say that Astro Bot’s Funky Fungi level is a delightful treat! The level design, the hidden elements, and the clever references to classic games like Castlevania and Bloodborne make it an absolute joy to navigate.

As I delved deeper into the lush landscapes of Creamy Canyon in Astro Bot, I stumbled upon the elusive Secret Exit. Unbeknownst to me, this secret pathway would lead me to the Funky Fungi stage nestled within the Lost Galaxy map. In this level, I’d be on a mission to seek out five cunningly hidden robots and gather two tricky puzzle pieces. Though there were fewer bots and pieces compared to some of the other stages, I soon realized that finding them wouldn’t be a walk in the park.

Funky Fungi Robot #1

Once you clear the initial barrier in Funky Fungi, you’ll notice the Vampire Killer robot (Richter Belmont from Castlevania) positioned on the left side of the platform. All you need to do is give him a good hit to rescue him. This particular character is hard to overlook.

Funky Fungi Puzzle Piece #1

Past the third checkpoint in Funky Fungi, you’ll come across a sizable rock. Rather than detonating it, move the bomb to your right where you’ll find a stone wall that can be demolished. This will uncover the first hidden puzzle piece hidden within Funky Fungi.

Funky Fungi Robot #2

Once you enter a dimly lit space filled with luminescent mushrooms, there are two platforms on the left you can access, but only by grabbing levitating floral power-ups from the ground. Climb to the uppermost mushroom to encounter the Yharnam Tourist, also known as the Hunter from Bloodborne.

Funky Fungi Puzzle Piece #2

Move towards the location where we discovered the Yharnam Tourist. On the right side of this area, you’ll find a blob monster perched atop a shining blue star symbol. Perform your charged spin move on this spot to uncover a hidden area containing the second puzzle piece. Lastly, execute your double jump laser attack on the fourth square from the top.

Funky Fungi Robot #3

In the same subterranean cavern region, take a look at the central platform (it has a trampolining rabbit and an adversary resembling a pumpkin there). You’ll notice another one of those shimmering blue marks on the ground. Utilize your spinning charged ability to access a hidden location, and don’t forget to greet the third robot trapped in this level.

Funky Fungi Robot #4

As soon as you exit the cave filled with mushrooms and continue your descent, you’ll come across a new checkpoint within the level. However, take a moment to glance back before moving forward. You’ll notice a stack of rocks that can be struck, which will uncover another one of those radiant blue spots.

To navigate through the platforms, you’ll need to swivel your DualSense controller back and forth. Your goal is to get to the end where you’ll encounter Alucard from Castlevania.

Funky Fungi Robot #5

Over time, you’ll come across a circular arena-like spot where an adversary hurls a massive spiked ball (which doubles as a helmet) at you. Defeat this foe and grab the propeller power-up nearby to ascend the waterfall, thereby rescuing the trapped robot that is being harassed by a yellow enemy.

If you’re finding it hard to reach it, try jumping from the pillars to the left of the waterfall for a good launching point instead.
