Elden Ring: How To Get To Volcano Manor

Elden Ring: How To Get To Volcano Manor

As an experienced Elden Ring adventurer, I must say that this method for reaching Volcano Manor is as straightforward as a well-cooked prawn from the Boilprawn Shack! Firstly, seek out the elusive Rya in Liurnia of the Lakes, near the Birdseye Telescope. Help her retrieve her precious necklace, stolen by the cunning Blackguard Big Boggart, lurking outside the Boilprawn Shack.

In the expansive universe of Elden Ring, you’ll find yourself traversing a vast landscape brimming with characters to engage, challenges to overcome, and hidden gems to discover. Key locations, integral to questlines or tucked away in enigmatic corners, must be unlocked for players to acquire some of the most powerful items and weapons within the game. A notable example is Volcano Manor, a fiery realm of intense heat teeming with dangerous creatures and distinctive inhabitants.

Navigating to Volcano Manor can be a bit unconventional, as multiple routes, each branching off in different directions, eventually lead you to the manor’s entrance. The journey and the choices players make upon reaching the location are entirely their own. This guide aims to assist those brave enough to tackle Elden Ring’s Volcano Manor, and its intertwining questlines, by providing details on all three paths that lead to this intriguing area.

It’s entirely possible to walk to Volcano Manor, but it’s quite a long trek from Elden Ring’s starting zone. To reach the area, you must first head to Mt. Gelmir, a zone that’s far north, past Liurnia of the Lakes and Altus Plateau.

Beware, these regions are filled with formidable foes who could quickly defeat a character not yet at a decent level. It might be wise to elevate your character to approximately level 50 before delving too deep into this area for your safety.

Begin your journey to Volcano Manor by setting off from the Erdtree Gazing Hill Site of Grace located on Atlas Plateau. From this vantage point, you’ll see a small statue situated atop a distant hillside.

If you guide Torrent to the statue ahead, then make a left turn and continue through the Wyndham Ruins (be careful as the Tibia Mariner boss lurks in these ruins), you’ll eventually come across a cave-like structure that encloses the Seethewater River Site of Grace. After this new Site of Grace, moving north will mark the start of your journey up Mt. Gelmir.

The Path To Volcano Manor

Reaching the Fallingstar Beast & The Volcano Manor Beyond It

Your journey up Mt. Gelmir is pretty straightforward, as you’ll keep continuing North and following whatever paths lead more up the mountain (this involves a lot of ladder climbing). Eventually, you should come across a massive series of rock walls jutting upward, with multiple long ladders to climb, most of which lead higher and higher up the mountain.

On my journey along this path, I begin to spot Volcano Manor in the distance, its distinctive silhouette against the horizon. As I get closer, I’ll recognize it by the long rope bridge spanning an immense chasm ahead. Crossing that bridge leads me to the Ninth Mt. Gelmir Campsite Site of Grace – another ladder awaits there, and not far off is a Spiritspring for my steed Torrent.

Approach the peak cautiously using either the ladder or the Spiritspring, as they both lead to an encounter with the Fully-Grown Fallingstar Beast that dwells at the summit. To bypass surprising the beast, use the Spiritspring and veer right upon landing, moving around it in a circular path. Once you’ve either managed to evade or defeat it, look for a towering rock projection to your right side within the boss arena. Sprint towards the edge of that rock and leap down when you reach it. This will put you on the final approach to Volcano Manor.

Teleporting To Volcano Manor

Via The Abductor Virgin

As a gamer venturing through Elden Ring, I discovered there’s more than one way to reach Volcano Manor besides trekking or riding my spirit horse. Luckily, an instant teleportation method is at your disposal, and it becomes available much earlier in the game.

After arriving at this platform, you should quickly leap onto one of the ascending surfaces and then swiftly move to the descending ones before they reach the top and flip you over. Once flipped upside-down, you can just ride the platform until it starts moving upwards again in the opposite direction. This action will transport you into a vast underground area filled with numerous crystals nearby.

Close by, there’s a device resembling an Iron Maiden on wheels, which appears harmless but is actually an Abductor with deadly capabilities. It has rotating blades that function as ‘hands’ and will engage in attack if you get too close.

The goal here is to get the Abductor Virgin to use its grab attack (AKA when the doors open and the inner arms lunge for you) and for that attack to be the final bit of damage that ‘kills’ you. Instead of dying and respawning at your previous Site of Grace, you’ll instead ‘wake up’ smack dab in the middle of Volcano Manor’s basement area. The only way to progress through the rest of the Manor and escape the area is to keep moving forward until you find the Twin Virgin Abductors boss in a small cave arena and defeat them. It’s also possible to teleport out to any previous Site of Grace, but players will need to progress far enough into Volcano Manor to find a Site of Grace there, otherwise, you’ll need to use this Abductor Virgin Raya Lucaria trick all over again.

Teleporting To Volcano Manor

By Completing Rya’s Questline

Interestingly, there are two ways to get to Volcano Manor, and the simplest one of these involves finding Rya. To do this, initiate her questline by speaking with her. She’s located to the north of the Laskyar Ruins in Liurnia of the Lakes. Since she’s quite noticeable, you should be able to find her easily. More specifically, she can be found near the Birdseye Telescope, which is just north of the Laskyar Ruins within a gazebo.

After talking to Rya, she’ll tell you that someone has stolen her valuable necklace, and she’s desperate to get it back. You might want to assist her in this matter. To help, locate the thief who took Rya’s belonging, which is Blackguard Big Boggart, stationed outside the Boilprawn Shack, to the northwest of Rya’s location. Approaching him will give you an opportunity to ask about the necklace. If he has it and agrees to return it, he’ll demand 1000 Runes or, alternatively, suggest a more violent solution that we wouldn’t endorse. Paying him should get the necklace back for Rya.

When you bring the necklace back to Rya, she’ll express gratitude and share details about herself, such as her employment at Lady Tanith’s Volcano Manor. After fully engaging in conversation with her, advance your journey until you reach Atlus Plateau via the Grand Lift of Dectus. Upon exiting the lift, look for Rya standing by a railing on the left. Talking to her there will prompt her to extend her hand and instantly transport you to Tanith’s Chambers within Volcano Manor.
