One Piece: Worst Haki Users (So Far)

One Piece: Worst Haki Users (So Far)

As a seasoned One Piece enthusiast with over a decade of dedication to this grand pirate saga, I must say that the Haki skills among some characters leave much to be desired.

This article contains spoilers from One Piece’s Egghead Arc.

Key Takeaways

  • Only a select few individuals can bring out Haki through life-changing experiences.
  • Some Haki users in One Piece have strong abilities, while others are disgraceful.
  • Even powerful characters like Eustass Kid can have underwhelming Haki abilities.

In the realm of One Piece, every person possesses an extraordinary skill known as Haki. Yet, it’s only a chosen few who can manifest this power through transformative life events. There are essentially two main categories of Haki: Observation and Armament Haki. An exceptionally rare third type of Haki is innate to a limited number of individuals at birth.

In the latter stages of “One Piece”, since it takes place in the New World, fans have observed Haki being used frequently. The narrative has largely revolved around the most powerful Haki users, but there are also many users who don’t meet the mark and could be categorized as poor wielders of this skill.

9 Red King

A Vice Admiral of the Navy

  • Haki Types: Observation, Armament
  • Devil Fruit: None

In the world of One Piece, a new character has been introduced – the Red King, who recently ascended to the position of Vice Admiral. This high-ranking Marine has already demonstrated an impressive amount of power, as his rank alone suggests he should possess both Observation and Armament Haki, skills that are highly valued within the series’ lore.

Regrettably, Red King’s mastery over Haki was lackluster, evident during his brief skirmish with Franky in the Egghead Arc. In essence, Franky managed to defeat him decisively with a powerful right punch, which is embarrassing for a high-ranking officer like a Vice Admiral of the Navy and suggests that Red King’s Haki was insufficient for self-defense.

8 Boo

A Member Of The Happo Navy

  • Haki Types: Observation, Armament
  • Devil Fruit: None

Booster, or Boo for short, serves in the Happo Navy and was born in the Kano Kingdom. Not only does he possess the skill of Hasshoken, but also the use of Haki.

In the Dressrosa Arc, it was evident to viewers that Boo’s Haki abilities were not as powerful compared to Sai, who excelled in Armament Haki. Even mediocre opponents managed to inflict harm on Boo, suggesting his Haki might not have been up to the mark. Here’s hoping he has become stronger since then.

7 Apoo

A Worst Generation Pirate

  • Haki Types: Observation, Armament
  • Devil Fruit: Oto Oto no Mi

Apoo demonstrates a high proficiency with his Devil Fruit, Oto Oto no Mi. While fans recognize him as remarkably tough, his mastery of Haki is relatively ordinary. To clarify, Apoo utilizes both Armament and Observation Haki. Admittedly, his application of Armament Haki leaves room for improvement; however, it’s worth noting that he withstood one of Zoro’s surprise attacks during the Onigashima arc, titled Death Lion’s Song.

Immediately rising from the situation indicates he likely used Haki to lessen the blow. However, his Haki skill isn’t yet strong enough for him to go head-to-head with the rest of the Worst Generation.

6 Pica

A Top Officer Of The Donquixote Pirates

  • Haki Types: Observation, Armament
  • Devil Fruit: Ishi Ishi no Mi

Among the officers of the Donquixote Pirates, Pica demonstrates a particularly brutal mastery of Haki. This became evident to viewers during the Dressrosa Saga, most notably during his battle with Zoro.

In this battle, Zoro struggled intensely, even though he had enveloped himself with Haki. Interestingly, it’s worth noting that Zoro wasn’t particularly proficient with Haki at the given moment, yet Pica found it impossible to resist him, suggesting that perhaps Zoro’s Haki skills were not as developed as they could be.

5 Diamante

A Top Donquixote Pirates Officer

  • Haki Types: Observation, Armament
  • Devil Fruit: Hira Hira no Mi

In contrast to what some fans might expect, another high-ranking member of the Donquixote Pirates, Diamante, has been shown to possess Haki abilities. However, during the Dressrosa arc, he didn’t seem to use this power as extensively as others. It could be that Diamante employs a type of Haki that goes unnoticed, such as the invisible or concealed form of it.

Irrespective, his proficiency in this technique was lacking significantly, as Kyros managed to overpower him without employing any Haki at all. Such a defeat for a swordsman is shameful, highlighting that his command over Haki was insufficient.

4 Jesus Burgess

Blackbeard’s First Ship Captain

One Piece: Worst Haki Users (So Far)
  • Haki Types: Observation, Armament
  • Devil Fruit: Riki Riki no Mi

In the New World, Jesus Burgess is renowned as a formidable pirate. His fame stems from being the original captain of the Blackbeard Pirates, a title that resonates deeply with his followers.

In the grand saga of One Piece, Burgess demonstrated proficiency with the Devil Fruit, a skill admired by fans. However, during the arc of Dressrosa, it became apparent that his mastery of Haki was less than impressive. This was evident when Sabo easily defeated him, suggesting a certain weakness in his Haki technique.

3 Bellamy

A Former Pirate

  • Haki Types: Observation, Armament
  • Devil Fruit: Bane Bane no Mi

Bellamy, though not officially a member of Doflamingo’s pirate gang, had once served under him. Known as a formidable sea rover, even within the New World, his reputation was renowned and well-established.

During the Dressrosa storyline, he joined a contest at Corrida Colosseum and lost quite easily. At this event, Bellamy demonstrated his Haki abilities, yet it’s clear that his Haki wasn’t particularly strong since he failed to leave an impact.

2 Tashigi

A Navy Captain

  • Haki Types: Observation, Armament
  • Devil Fruit: None

In the world of One Piece, it’s regrettable that Tashigi, despite her lofty aspirations, isn’t as proficient in Haki as fans might hope, considering how intriguing her ambitions are.

In the Punk Hazard Arc of “One Piece”, she demonstrated using Haki while fighting against Law. It’s likely that she has improved her skills with Haki since that time.

1 Eustass Kid

A 3 Billion Berries Pirate

  • Haki Types: Observation, Armament, Supreme King
  • Devil Fruit: Jiki Jiki no Mi

Among One Piece fans, it’s often noted that Captain Eustass Kid, leader of the Kid Pirates, is one of the least impactful users of Haki we’ve seen so far. Despite having all three forms of Haki at his disposal, Kid has yet to leave a lasting mark with any of them.

Kid was recently seen fighting against Shanks, and was obliterated in a single second, once again, going to highlight that his Observation Haki, Armament Haki, and of course, even Conqueror’s Haki are awful.
