As a seasoned gamer with countless hours spent traversing mystical realms, I must say that the Lantern Wardens in Black Myth: Wukong have become a formidable challenge and an intriguing addition to my gaming journey. These elusive creatures, hidden deep within the Pagoda Realm, have tested my reflexes, patience, and strategic prowess like no other.
In Black Myth: Wukong, there’s only one missable Curio, and it can be found by delving into the Pagoda Realm. This journey may involve facing challenging adversaries. Occasionally within the Pagoda Realm, the background music will grow louder, signaling the onset of the Pagoda Curse. During this curse, which is temporary, your character’s health will be reduced to half. While it can be frustrating, this situation also brings about a new type of enemy called Lantern Wardens.
In this mystical Pagoda Realm, these Lantern Guardians patrol and have the ability to spot players. Once they do, they can capture and hurl players into a pit, which results in their demise. Eliminating all of the Lantern Guardians is crucial for obtaining the Curio.
All Lantern Warden Locations
There are nine Lantern Wardens located on the different floors of the Pagoda Realm.
By overcoming Captain Wise-Voice close to the Sanctuary of the Mani Wheel Keeper, you’ll prevent the Lantern Guardian from appearing.

| 1 | The first Lantern Warden is located on the floor you find yourself in at the start of Pagoda Realm. Follow the main path to the first Keeper’s Shrine at the end, and you can see the Warden during the curse. |
| 2 | The second one should be a few steps ahead of the first one. |
| 3 | From the Lower Pagoda Keeper’s Shrine, head left into the narrow walkway and follow the main path. Take the first right through the metal gate, and you can spot the third Lantern Warden in the distance. |
| 4 | The fourth one should be a few steps ahead of the third one. |
| 5 | The fifth Warden is in front of the Upper Pagoda Keeper’s Shrine. |
| 6 | From the Upper Pagoda Keeper’s Shrine, head straight along the path. Soon, you will see a wooden ramp you can cross, and the sixth Lantern Warden is on the other side. |
| 7 | The seventh one should be a few steps ahead of the sixth one. |
| 8 | The eighth Lantern should be a few steps ahead of the seventh one. |
| 9 | Progress further into the area until you reach the Mani Wheel Keeper’s Shrine. Instead of entering the Captain Wise-Voice boss room, turn around and go where you came. As you reach the wooden ramp that goes down, pass it and follow the path until you can drop down to a lower rock platform. Drop down again to reach a lower floor where the ninth Warden is at the end of this path. |
The Lantern Guardians manifest themselves during the active curse. As soon as every single one of these guardians is defeated, the Curio artifact will fall on its own and contribute to your “Curio Collector” Trophy or Achievement.
