Marvel Snap: Silver Sable Guide (Deck, Strategy, Counter)

Marvel Snap: Silver Sable Guide (Deck, Strategy, Counter)

As a long-time Marvel Snap enthusiast with countless hours spent strategizing and mastering each card, I can confidently say that Silver Sable is a character worthy of attention, albeit not for the reasons one might initially think. She’s like that quirky sidekick in a superhero movie who doesn’t quite have the main character’s flashy powers but still manages to save the day with their unique abilities.

In the initial Spotlight Cache of Marvel Snap’s The Amazing Spider-Season, it’s Silver Sable who takes the spotlight. She is a single-cost, single-power card that activates when flipped over. This ability allows her to swipe two Power points from the top card of your opponent’s deck.

Silver Sable teams up with Marvel Snap, sharing the stage with Symbiote Spider-Man, whose Season Pass card drew attention due to its unique Activate ability. Surprisingly, Silver Sable demonstrates promising signs of making an impact in the gameplay as a disruptive and bouncing character.

The Best Deck for Silver Sable

Marvel Snap: Silver Sable Guide (Deck, Strategy, Counter)

Silver Sable shines in a deck centered around bouncing characters, particularly when partnered with Beast and Cassandra Nova. To create this type of deck, consider combining the three main characters (Sable, Beast, and Cassandra) with the following cards: Scorpion, Hazmat, Ajax, Viper, Shang-Chi, Man-Thing, Kate Bishop, and The Hood.

Card Cost Power
SIlver Sable 1 1
Beast 3 5
Cassandra Nova 3 0
Nico Minoru 1 2
The Hood 1 -3
Kate Bishop 2 3
Scorpion 2 2
Hazmat 2 2
Viper 3 5
Man-Thing 4 7
Shang-Chi 4 3
Ajax 5 7

Silver Sable Deck’s Syenregies

  • Silver Sable, Hazmat, Scorpion, Man-Thing, and Cassandra Nova afflict the enemy with negative Power.
  • Beast helps recollect and replay damage-dealer cards.
  • Viper and The Hood combo afflicts extra damage.
  • Ajax benefits from all the afflicted cards.
  • Nico Minoru and Kate Bishop provide more bounce options.
  • Shang-Chi is the tech card.

Ajax is a flex option.

How to Play Silver Sable

Silver Sable is a straightforward card that’s simple to use in gameplay. Frequently, you deploy her in harmful or disruption-based strategies to hinder your opponent. As a result, she works exceptionally well with cards that either reduce the enemy’s power or add unwanted cards to their deck.

Remember these notes when playing Silver Sable:

  • You won’t see Silver Sable’s target. Her On Reveal animation includes shooting the enemy’s deck twice without revealing the affected card.
  • Silver Sable’s effect is “steal,” not “copy.” The targeted card will lose two Power like a -2 affliction.

How to Counter Silver Sable

Silver Sable primarily relies on Cosmo for her counterattack, but Luke Cage and Shadow King provide effective alternatives. Although Luke Cage doesn’t directly nullify Silver Sable’s impact, he can reduce the harm from harmful synergies commonly found in Silver Sable-centric decks. Meanwhile, Shadow King is a powerful choice as he has the ability to reset card stats back to their original values.

Killmonger represents a stronger response in this scenario. As a single-use card, Silver Sable can be eliminated instantly by Killmonger before she inflicts any damage. However, this action won’t stop the harm Silver Sable was about to cause, but it will remove her +2 boost.

Is Silver Sable Worth It?

Marvel Snap: Silver Sable Guide (Deck, Strategy, Counter)

In the game of Marvel Snap, Silver Sable is a character that players might choose to overlook. She aligns nicely with toxic and bounce strategies, but her benefits don’t outweigh her cost. Moreover, the two-point damage Silver Sable deals is frequently insignificant because opponents can either skip playing the affected card or counter it using tech or boost cards.

Alexander Coccia, known for his work on the Marvel Snap, shared that he had less positive feelings towards Silver Sable at first compared to Symbiote Spider-Man. He proposed that Symbiote Spider-Man tends to have a broader range of compatible interactions, whereas Silver Sable may rely heavily on one effective tactic.
