The Little Disciple, with its fireball-spitting wisps while sprinting, has been the bane of many a careless player’s existence. But fear not, for the Energy Drink synergizes beautifully with this pesky boss item, making those wisps just a minor inconvenience on your path to victory.

As a hardcore gamer diving into the world of Risk of Rain 2, I’ve noticed there are seven distinct types of loot in this game. You can find common white items, uncommon green ones, rare legendary red items, elusive purple void items, valuable blue lunar items, potent orange equipment, and prestigious gold boss items. Interestingly, when you take down a teleporter boss, it’s guaranteed to drop an uncommon green item, but there’s a 15% chance that it might just as well bestow upon you its unique golden boss item instead.

These objects aren’t quite as potent as legendary ones, but fewer of them exist compared to standard green items. They might not provide many choices for the player, but they become very handy in specific scenarios. Furthermore, players can earn a golden item by employing the Trophy Hunter’s Tricorn.

6 Empathy Cores

In simpler terms, allies refer to any characters or entities displayed in your User Interface (UI) that have a health bar, such as ghosts produced by the Happiest Mask, an item with limited effectiveness when used independently. If you possess Empathy Cores, it’s beneficial to revive as many drones as possible to enhance the damage output of Solus Probes.

5 Shatterspleen

Critically Bleeding Enemies

In the game Risk of Rain 2, it’s clear that critical hits pack a significant punch. So, you’d expect an item that boosts critical hit effects to be very strong. However, Shatterspleen isn’t quite as powerful as it seems initially. It’s got some punch, but not as much as people might anticipate at first glance.

As a gamer, I’ve come across this item that makes my critical hits cause enemies to bleed and explode shortly after. It provides a decent area-of-effect (AoE) choice, but there are other items like the Will-o’-the-wisp, which have similar effects and are more commonly found. If I don’t have guaranteed crits, I can still use regular bleeds from the Tri-tip Dagger to trigger an explosion. If I’m embarking on a run with the Artifact of Command, getting the Shatterspleen to bolster my existing critical hit build could be a smart move.

To maintain prolonged gameplay sessions, it’s crucial to inflict significant damage while evading as many attacks as you can, thus staying alive long enough to defeat all enemies. However, no one is flawless, and errors are inevitable. That’s when the healing items become essential, boosting the player’s resilience after they receive damage, allowing them to recover from wounds and emerge even more powerful.

The Mired Urn gradually depletes the health of an enemy close to the player, causing a quarter of their total health to be lost every 0.25 seconds. This damage also contributes to the player’s healing progress, making it an exceptional healing item within the game. A player with higher damage output will receive more healing benefits.

3 Little Disciple

The Best Offense Is Running Away

In any playthrough of Risk of Rain 2, players will predominantly evade rather than attack, as avoiding getting hit is crucial for survival. Taking damage directly increases the risk of death, so swiftly moving out of harm’s way is essential. Sprinting can be a useful technique to dodge multiple attacks, as it provides time to recharge survivor abilities and launch fresh offensive strategies.

Instead of just sprinting causing damage and producing homing wisps every 1.6 seconds, let’s say that while running quickly, the Little Disciple inflicts damage and generates homing wisps. These wisps appear more frequently as the player’s speed increases. Notably, only the speed gained from sprinting impacts this situation, making the Energy Drink a potent ally for this boss item.

2 Molten Perforator

Volcanic Eruptions

The Molten Perforator is another tool in the players’ arsenal for setting off consecutive effects. With every strike made by the player, there’s a 10% chance that three lava orbs will appear. These orbs have an extraordinarily high proc factor of 0.7. If all three orbs hit their target, it significantly increases the likelihood of initiating a proc chain. The orbs inflict triple damage on targets and set enemies ablaze.

Because the molten balls produced by the Molten Perforator lack any guidance system, they often fail to hit smaller opponents. On the contrary, they prove very effective against larger adversaries such as the Grandfather and Elder Lemurians.

1 Charged Perforator

Electric AtG on Steroids

Using the Charged Perforator in your arsenal, each attack you make has a 10% likelihood of summoning a lightning bolt that multiplies the damage inflicted on the enemy by fivefold. The advantage is that these lightning bolts have a proc coefficient of 1.0, making them capable of activating effects like Bleed, AtG’s, Kjaro’s, Runald’s Bands, and so forth when they strike.

This item stands out due to its impressive processing capacity and high damage potential, making it incredibly alluring. While the Molten Perforator performs exceptionally well against large adversaries, the Charged Perforator excels against smaller enemies too, proving effective even against larger ones. As a result, in most scenarios, the Charged Perforator is the more advantageous option.
