How to Beat Cloudy Mist and Misty Cloud in Black Myth: Wukong

As a seasoned warrior with battle-worn scars etched across my weathered visage, I’ve faced many formidable foes in my time. Yet none have tested the limits of my mettle quite like Cloudy Mist and her partner-in-crime, Misty Cloud. These two dance a deadly waltz that requires swift reflexes, keen anticipation, and a pinch of wit to outmaneuver them.

In the fifth chapter of ‘Black Myth: Wukong’, we venture to the Flaming Mountains, land of the King Ox and many dangerous bosses. A pair of particularly challenging bosses are the lethal duo known as Cloudy Mist and Misty Cloud. The first, Cloudy Mist, is a three-headed sorceress who hurls homing spells, while Misty Cloud attacks directly with a burning club made from bundled incense sticks.

Overcoming the hazy fog or foggy haze is essential when navigating the fiery peaks in Black Myth: Wukong, and this guide aims to help you by explaining their attack patterns and offering recommended tactics for defeating them.

Preparations

In this battle, the Immobilize and Pluck of Many spell combo is your most reliable ally. By freezing one of the bosses and sending in your clones, you’ll find it simple to deplete their health quickly. This strategy may be heavy on mana usage but it’s incredibly effective for dealing damage during this boss fight.

Cloudy Mist

The battle commences as Cloudy Mist discharges a streak of light, moving horizontally across. By swiftly evading in the opposite direction, you can avoid it; alternatively, timing your jump to clear it also works. As you approach Cloudy Mist, they’ll initiate melee combos with their staff. First, they’ll lift their staff high before swiftly moving it back and forth horizontally. After the second swing, Misty Cloud will leap forward for a third hit, so be prepared to spot their jump and dodge to the side of their attack. This offers an opportunity for you to strike a few blows as they pause between attacks.

As Cloudy Mist waves its staff, producing sparkling particles that could turn into swift, homing projectiles once he finishes conjuring them, stay alert and ready to evade. Approach the projectiles as they near to roll through them, but beware; they can change direction quickly and are challenging to escape. After this attack, Cloudy Mist typically follows up with a heavy strike before Misty Cloud leaps in with an overhead smash shortly after. Evade the heavy blow, then dodge through Misty Cloud’s smash and refrain from attacking immediately because Cloudy Mist may have conjured more particles with that powerful swing, which will flash and shoot beams of light at you once they are activated. You must dodge instantly after seeing the flash to avoid these beams before resuming your offensive.

Cloudy Mist often employs an attack where it crouches down, gathering energy within itself. Be prepared to evade as it suddenly stands up, discharging three swift bursts of light immediately afterwards. Evade by moving sideways continuously until the third burst has been fired. Afterwards, you can retaliate with some attacks.

When Cloudy Mist’s health drops by a fourth, they switch tactics and anchor their staff into the ground, then wave their arms frantically. At this point, it’s best to back off as far as possible to dodge the powerful flash that follows shortly after. After this flashbang move, Misty Cloud will enter the fray. This flashbang attack serves as a tag-out for Cloudy Mist. Following the flash, they hurl a massive projectile at you, which can be dodged by swiftly moving left or right.

Misty Cloud

After employing the flashbang maneuver initially, Cloudy Mist will become invisible, with Misty Cloud taking control. Misty Cloud primarily uses melee attacks that cause burning and quick jumping lunges to bridge gaps. They can also momentarily switch back to Cloudy Mist for ranged attacks such as the triple laser. When using the triple laser in this manner, Cloudy Mist instantly transitions into Misty Cloud, charging towards you to catch you off guard. Maintain your composure, dodge the lasers, then dodge the charge and counterattack Misty Cloud. When Misty Cloud grips their flaming club in both hands, they’ll ready an overhead swing. Evade to the side, then weave through the horizontal swing that follows (avoid dodging backwards as it leaves a trail of fire mid-swing). They will then execute another small horizontal swing before two overhead slams, so wait for the second slam and retaliate.

When Misty Cloud halts following an overhead strike, a puff of smoke is released, momentarily stunning anyone nearby. To prevent being stunned, simply dodge immediately when you see the smoke burst. Following the smoke blast, Misty Cloud calls in Cloudy Mist to unleash a series of homing projectiles. As they approach, Misty Cloud rushes towards you for another overhead smash while firing the homing bolts. This can be tricky to dodge, but if timed correctly, you can dodge through the projectiles and the smash simultaneously with consecutive dodges. Alternatively, if you have Azure Dust equipped, you can use it to absorb the attack’s impact.

Whenever Cloudy Mist speaks about demonstrating teamwork, expect an abrupt return of Misty Cloud, initiating another melee combo. Stay vigilant, keep your eyes peeled for Cloudy Mist as you dodge Misty Cloud’s assaults, for the former is readying a powerful ranged attack while the latter tries to divert your attention. Once Misty Cloud’s combo concludes, focus on Cloudy Mist and swiftly move aside when their blast nears you. This presents an opportunity to apply Immobilize and inflict damage on them.

The leadership will frequently rotate among different individuals, and they’ll switch up their strategies, which can make it challenging to zero in on a single opponent. However, if you remain composed and look for opportunities, you’ll gradually wear them down. When one of them is defeated, the remaining ones won’t pick up any new tactics, making them easier to defeat.
