The December 2025 ‘Cold Snap’ update for ARC Raiders initially showcased the Guitar instrument. But players soon discovered there was another musical addition: the Shaker, a percussion instrument they could use to create music on the topside.
Want to know what the Shaker is in ARC Raiders and how to get your hands on one? You’ve come to the right place! This guide will explain everything about the Shaker, including where to find it.

The Shaker is a common item found in living spaces, like apartments. You’ll often find it in the Pale Apartments within the Dam Battlegrounds, which is a quieter part of the map that allows you time to thoroughly search for items.
Finding a Shaker right now is completely up to chance. But, you’ll have a better chance of finding one if you search in Residential areas.
Best Locations to Find Shakers
| Pale Apartments | Dam Battlegrounds |
| Ruby Residence | Dam Battlegrounds |
| Santa Maria Houses | Buried City |
| Village | The Blue Gate |
| Abandoned Housing Project | The Blue Gate |
This isn’t a complete list of where you can find the Shaker. It might also show up in places that aren’t homes or buildings.

Whenever you begin playing, the melody shifts, even though there aren’t many songs to choose from.
What Playing the Shaker Does
The latest update to ARC Raiders (version 1.7.0) introduces a new effect when playing the Shaker. It applies a “Vibing Status” to nearby enemies, causing them to visibly react to the music with a head-shaking or bobbing animation. Initial tests confirm this effect is now active.
Players who are all ‘Vibing’ nearby will have their instruments automatically synchronize, letting them create a shared, rhythmic tune even if they’re using different instruments like flutes and guitars.
Besides creating a ‘Vibing’ effect, the Shaker reliably draws ARC enemies closer. Similar to other instruments in ARC Raiders, playing it creates noise that attracts enemies, potentially making the player a target.
