This article contains major spoilers for Solo Leveling.
The popular series Solo Leveling has gained worldwide attention, largely due to its exciting action sequences. The main character, Sung Jinwoo, is constantly becoming more powerful, allowing him to face increasingly difficult opponents and expand his unique Shadow Army. However, in season 3 of Solo Leveling, this impressive and defining ability – the Shadow Army – is about to be taken away from him.
If the third season of Solo Leveling covers the Double Dungeon Arc, viewers will witness Jinwoo temporarily losing control of his Shadow Army while battling the Architect. However, he’ll eventually get his army back and become significantly more powerful, gaining a new ability called the Black Heart.
Sung Jinwoo Will Lose Access To His Shadows In The Double Dungeon
The second season of Solo Leveling concluded successfully, leaving fans eager for more. The Double Dungeon arc is widely expected to be adapted in the upcoming third season.
Manhwa fans are really looking forward to this story arc! It brings Sung Jinwoo back to the Double Dungeon, the place where his journey began and he first met the God Statue. He’ll return after leveling up to 100 and receiving an invitation from the Architect.
Fans of Manhwa know this is a setup. The Architect is trying to capture Jinwoo and use him as a host for Ashborn, meaning Jinwoo must battle the Architect. Because the Architect created the System, he has the power to take away some of Jinwoo’s abilities – most importantly, his Shadow Army. This leaves Jinwoo to fight alone for a while, putting him at a significant disadvantage.
Sung Jinwoo’s Battle Versus The Architect Won’t Be An Easy One
The fight between Jinwoo and The Architect is set to be a thrilling highlight of Solo Leveling Season 3. Even though Jinwoo is incredibly powerful, he’ll be facing a tough challenge with some of his skills unavailable.
Jinwoo would have been defeated and become Ashborn’s puppet if Ashborn hadn’t turned against the Architect. He was incredibly fortunate during this part of the story, as everything was stacked against him.
Jinwoo Will Get His Shadows Back And Grow Tremendously Powerful
As a huge fan, I was so relieved when Jinwoo got his shadows back! It was awful seeing them locked away by The Architect, but thankfully it wasn’t forever. Not only did he regain them, but he actually became even stronger in the process – it was an incredible power-up!
Jinwoo receives a significant power boost from Ashborn, the former Shadow Monarch, in the form of a Black Heart. This advancement allows Jinwoo to reach an entirely new level of strength.
You can currently watch 25 episodes of Solo Leveling, divided into two seasons, with the latest season concluding in 2025. It’s available for streaming on Crunchyroll. While there’s no news yet about a third season, fans can continue enjoying the story through the original Solo Leveling Manhwa.
