As a long-time fan of One Piece, I can’t help but feel a sense of anticipation about the upcoming developments in the storyline. The recent revelations regarding the God’s Knights and the potential successor to Saint Garling Figarland have left me on the edge of my seat!

As a dedicated gamer immersed in the thrilling world of One Piece, I can tell you firsthand that the Final Saga has reached new heights of intensity. The universe of One Piece is currently in a state of turmoil like never before, with numerous factions engaged in relentless conflict and the promise of an even greater war on the horizon – the Great War against the World Government. The chaos in this vibrant world seems to be escalating by the minute, and I can hardly wait to see how it all unfolds!
Actually, it has been set off, albeit under controlled conditions. This action was initiated by no one else but the commander of the Revolutionary Army, Dragon himself. By announcing war against him, he has compelled those in power to dispatch their top-tier forces, the God’s Knights, into play. These God’s Knights will undoubtedly make more appearances in the Final Saga of One Piece; however, fans are still largely uninformed about them. Their leader was previously disclosed to them quite some time ago. Nevertheless, due to the recent developments in the story following the Egghead arc, there is a growing speculation among fans that the God’s Knights might require a new leader under the current circumstances.

In essence, they function as the military force in Marijoa, imposing judgments and maintaining order. Their strength is such that they are rumored to challenge the Revolutionary Army, making for a tough fight.

It’s clear Dragon considers the God’s Knights powerful enough to offer a good challenge, as suggested by the RA’s caution towards them. Regrettably, not many members of the God’s Knights are known to fans right now. The only recognized member that fans are familiar with is their Supreme Commander, better known as their leader, who goes by Saint Garling Figarland.
Garling was revealed to be the leader of this unit rather recently in One Piece, around the time Egghead was ongoing. Fans also know Saint Garling to be incredibly important in the story. This character holds tremendous power, as is expected as the man sitting at the top of the judicial arm of the Celestial Dragons. In fact, he is one of the few people who are actually allowed to hurt a Celestial Dragon. This was implied in the Egghead arc, where he executed Saint Mjosgard for aiding Fishman and Merfolk and allowing those responsible for laying hands on a Celestial Dragon escape. Mjosgard was killed by Saint Garling, which just goes to show how important he truly is. To add to that, fans also know that Saint Garling Figarland is Shanks’s very own father. This attaches even more importance to his character, and also goes to show how strong this guy truly is.
Why The God’s Knights Need A New Leader
The God’s Knights Are Monstrously Powerful But Need Someone To Direct Them
Despite Saint Garling Figarland demonstrating immense power and never being accused of incompetence, fans are convinced that a fresh leader is needed among the God’s Knights. This call for change stems from the latest developments towards the end of the Egghead Island arc in One Piece. For those unaware, Saint Garling Figarland has recently gained even more power. In the events of the Egghead Island arc, Saint Saturn relinquished his role as an Elder.
The majority of these events unfolded due to his inability to prevent Luffy, also known as Joy Boy, from leaving Egghead. His shortcomings were exacerbated by his inability to execute the task of eliminating every Vegapunk satellite and, inadvertently, enabled Vegapunk’s messages to be broadcast worldwide.
In the story of “One Piece,” Imu took it upon himself to eliminate Saint Saturn, removing his immortality in the process. This action left behind nothing more than a bag of bones, which viewers could see at the end of chapter 1125.
From a devoted fan’s perspective, it was unmistakable that one of the Five Elders had effectively stepped down from their role, leaving a vacancy that needed to be filled. Stepping up to the plate was none other than Saint Garling Figarland. In essence, Saint Garling Figarland has been elevated to the position of Godhead of Science and Defense, making him one of the Elders. Of course, with this new role comes increased responsibilities, as outlined in Chapter 1125 where Saint Garling is tasked with overseeing the creation of the eternal Motherflame.
In essence, this implies that York now has authority over him, including the lab previously taken from Egghead. With these additional duties, Garling can no longer fulfill his role as the Supreme Commander of the God’s Knights. Consequently, there might be a requirement for a new Supreme Commander among the ranks of the God’s Knights, potentially introducing an important figure.
Who Could The New Leader Of The God’s Knights Be?
Shanks Has Other Siblings Who Could Fulfill This Role
At present, it’s unclear who will take over as the Supreme Commander of the God’s Knights, as many members of this group remain unknown to fans. While some characters were glimpsed during Kuma’s flashback on God Valley, none of them were identified. Interestingly, there is one potential candidate for the position left vacant by Garling Figarland – his child.
Watch closely, children! – Garling
For those not aware, Saint Garling isn’t only parent to a single child. In fact, during the Kuma flashback, it was hinted that he has multiple children. This implies that Shanks, who was a newborn around the time of the God Valley Incident, could have an older sibling, either an elder brother or sister. Considering the possibility, this potential sibling might eventually succeed Saint Garling as the Supreme Commander of the God’s Knights.
Indeed, this new development aligns quite neatly with the recent visuals from One Piece, specifically when Vegapunk’s transmission concluded. The figure depicted in the silhouette bore a resemblance to Shanks, armed with a saber, much like Garling and Shanks himself. Additionally, when Dragon revealed the God’s Knights’ silhouettes, another figure identical to Shanks was evident. It seems plausible that the individual who may succeed Saint Garland Figarland as the Supreme Commander of the God’s Knights could be none other than Shanks’ own brother. Fans are buzzing with excitement, eager to learn more about this enigmatic character.
