Dave The Diver’s In The Jungle DLC Is The Game’s Largest Story Expansion Yet

The next expansion for the popular game Dave the Diver, called ‘In the Jungle,’ was first revealed at The Game Awards 2024. However, there haven’t been any new details released since then.

The wait is over! This Friday, Mintrocket released a new “Dev Dive” video giving a detailed look at the upcoming DLC. It seems like this will be the biggest expansion for the game yet, continuing Dave’s story as he juggles his two jobs and tries to make ends meet.

A Massive Expansion with New Systems

So, the developers just announced that the new ‘In the Jungle’ DLC is going to be huge! They’re saying we’re looking at around 10 hours of gameplay, which is seriously impressive – it’s about 40% the length of the entire main story! That’s a lot of jungle to explore, and I’m definitely excited.

This expansion brings big changes, including some unexpected gameplay features that are different from the original game. This time, Dave explores a new freshwater environment and meets a whole new cast of characters. Let’s take a closer look at what players can expect!

The biggest new feature is a jungle village called Utara, where the game world operates on real-time. You’ll meet villagers who can become friends or customers, depending on how you interact with them. This unlocks a whole host of new tasks, side quests, and minigames that Mintrocket says will be very rewarding.

To enhance the new environment, we’re adding the Bancho Grill, a restaurant that’s a key part of the experience. Unlike Bancho Sushi, the Grill lets you move around the entire space to serve customers in different areas – a much more open and flexible system! You won’t be restricted to a single line anymore.

Okay, so the exploration in Dave the Diver is getting a serious boost with this DLC! They’re adding tons of new and crazy sea creatures – I’m hearing rumors of dinosaurs even! – and of course, more stuff trying to kill you. But the coolest part? This new weapon, the Jungle Gun. It’s totally customizable – you can switch it between a net gun, shotgun, sniper rifle, or just a regular gun on the fly. It’s awesome because I can finally play how I want to, whether I prefer to capture things, go in guns blazing, or take careful shots.

Finally, Mintrocket announced that a mobile version of Dave the Diver is being created. This won’t just be a simple copy of the game; it’s being fully rebuilt and optimized to work perfectly on mobile devices.
