Boruto: 7 Strongest Shinjutsu, Ranked

This article contains spoilers from the Boruto series.

In the world of Boruto, many of the strongest characters wield a special power called Shinjutsu, which makes them much more formidable than typical ninjas who use techniques like ninjutsu, genjutsu, or senjutsu. All of these powerful Shinjutsu abilities ultimately originate from Shibai Otsutsuki, including powers like Karma, Omnipotence, and Prescience. These abilities have been crucial in helping Boruto Uzumaki develop his skills and have fueled much of the conflict throughout the Boruto series.

Shinjutsu is an incredibly powerful ability unique to the Otsutsuki Clan and those who’ve received the DNA of Shibai Otsutsuki. Characters like Boruto, Kawaki, Eida, and Daemon have awakened this power, making them significantly stronger than most others in the series. Their strength comes directly from possessing Shinjutsu.

Omnipotence Is the Strongest Shinjutsu

Current User: Eida

Omnipotence is an incredibly powerful ability – it can essentially create anything the user wants. Whether it’s fulfilling a wish like making someone fall in love, Omnipotence can make it happen.

Eida’s situation is different because she isn’t a true member of the Otsutsuki clan, which means she doesn’t have complete control over her Omnipotence ability. Essentially, she can’t just turn it on whenever she wants, which currently weakens its effectiveness.

I’m totally fascinated by this jutsu from Boruto called Omnipotence! It’s incredible – it actually swapped Boruto and Kawaki’s positions, and it did it for a really long time. What’s even wilder is that it didn’t just affect them; it changed everyone’s memories of who was who! It’s a seriously powerful ability.

Karma Is an Immortality-Based Shinjutsu

Current Users: Boruto, Kawaki, Momoshiki

Karma is a powerful ability unique to the Otsutsuki clan that essentially grants them eternal life. It works by storing an Otsutsuki’s memories and consciousness within a special seal. When the Otsutsuki’s body is destroyed, they can transfer their consciousness into a new, compatible host and be reborn. Momoshiki and Isshiki both tried to use Karma to possess Boruto and Kawaki, but their plans were ultimately unsuccessful.

In Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, Karma isn’t used to bring people back to life. Instead, Boruto and Kawaki tap into its power to become incredibly strong, and it unlocks special abilities from the Otsutsuki clan, making them even better fighters.

Reflection Uses the Opponent’s Power and Killing Intent

Current User: Daemon

Reflection is a unique ability that stops someone from directly touching its user. It works by pushing attackers away, and the stronger the attacker’s desire to harm the user, the more powerful the push becomes. Essentially, it uses an opponent’s own strength against them.

Daemon currently wields the power of Reflection, making him a formidable and nearly invincible opponent. Code was the first to experience this ability firsthand, and the results were remarkable. Daemon’s reflection isn’t limited to blocking attacks; he can even deflect Code’s aggressive intentions.

Daemon’s ability, Reflection, normally requires him to physically touch someone to activate. However, recent episodes of Boruto: TBV have shown him using it without making contact, and these instances are happening more and more frequently.

Daikokuten Traps Enemies in a Timeless Dimension

Current User: Kawaki

Daikokuten is a powerful ability that lets the user imprison opponents in a separate dimension where time stands still. First used by Isshiki Otsutsuki, this power was passed down to Kawaki through the Karma mark, enabling him to easily send people like Naruto and Hinata to this timeless dimension.

Within the Daikokuten dimension, Naruto is effectively immortal – he won’t age or die from hunger. He also can’t improve his abilities on his own; any increase in power would have to come from the authors, Kishimoto and Ikemoto, giving him a new technique.

The Daikokuten is a powerful spirit technique particularly useful against enemies who rapidly heal and require binding. It works well unless the target can teleport away to another dimension or is simply too quick to be caught.

Sukunahikona Is an Ocular Shinjutsu

Current User: Kawaki

Sukunahikona is a technique that lets the user quickly shrink objects and then instantly restore them to their normal size. It can even be used on the user themselves, allowing them to become smaller for dodging, surprise attacks, or fitting into narrow areas. While it works on most things, it can’t affect living creatures, but it can be used on energy and chakra.

Sukunahikona is a powerful technique that’s hard to defend against – it even proved too strong for Sasuke and Naruto when they fought Isshiki Otsutsuki. Now that Kawaki has it, he’s using its flexibility to both attack and protect himself, as seen during his battle with Jura in the Land of the Wind.

Claw Mark Creates Portals

Current Users: Code, Shinju Clones

Claw Mark isn’t a direct attack, but it’s great for surprise attacks when used cleverly. It creates black bands that act like portals, letting the user quickly move around and ambush opponents without being seen.

If someone uses the Claw Mark to designate a location, they can instantly reappear there from the black bands. The Code and Shinju Clones often use this ability to launch surprise attacks or make quick getaways. Because it can also transport others, the Claw Mark is a very adaptable technique.

Prescience Delivers Multiple Future Outcomes

Current User: Kashin Koji

Prescience, also called Ten Directions, is a special ability that lets someone see possible futures. Essentially, it’s the power to foresee events and know what might happen before it does.

Kashin Koji is using his ability to see the future to plan his moves and make choices. He’s also helping Boruto Uzumaki by warning him about dangerous situations and preventing him from getting seriously hurt.

Kashin Koji possesses a powerful ability, similar to Eida, but he doesn’t have complete control over it. He can’t activate it whenever he wants, and typically only receives visions about once a week. Despite this limitation, his ability to see the future allowed him to quickly improve Boruto’s skills, find his opponents’ vulnerabilities, and develop a winning strategy against Jura and the Shinju Clones.
