As a seasoned Stardew Valley adventurer with countless hours spent mining in the depths of the Skull Cavern, let me tell you this quest is no walk in the park. The key here is preparation, my friend! Stock up on food and health items before embarking on your journey.

If you want to craft some of the indie darling, ‘s, most useful late-game items, you’ll need to find some . To find this resource while mining, you’ll have to first achieve some special conditions.

You’ve got three options to do so:

• Accept ‘s special order Danger In The Deep for the Mines
• Or head to Calico Desert for the Skull Cavern Invasion, also from Mr. Qi
• Activate the Shrine of Challenge on Floor 120 of the Mines
• Activate the Statue in the Skull Cavern entrance

Whenever I stumble upon them, you’ll easily identify these ores by their radioactive nodes, marked with vibrant green speckles. Just like any other node, all you need to do is swing your pickaxe, and I’ll chisel off a bit of the glowing ore.

Radioactive Ore In The Mines

Radioactive Ore spawns when the Mines are considered “dangerous.” This happens if the Shrine of Challenge is active, or if you’ve accepted the quest Danger In The Deep.

On the 120th level of the mines, you’ll find the Challenge Shrine. Once activated, the mines transform from their usual safe state into a hazardous zone.

Rest assured, you can disable the Shrine of Challenge to return the risk level to its usual state. Just keep in mind that the level of toughness will adjust a day after you activate the shrine. Stay alert and be ready!

For the first time you arrive at floor 120, you won’t find the Shrine of Challenge. However, it is Mr. Qi, the casino proprietor, who sets it up only after you’ve successfully completed his mission named “Danger in the Deep” for the very first time.

Danger In The Deep

To kick off your adventure, first travel to Ginger Island and locate one hundred small treasures hidden there. Once found, you can gain access to Qi’s Walnut Room, which is situated on the western part of the island.

Within lies Mr. Qi’s “Specially Assigned Tasks Board,” which gets updated every Monday with a couple of new missions. Make sure to visit it weekly until he assigns you the mission titled “Danger in the Depths.

As a dedicated enthusiast, I find myself embarking on an intriguing journey: the goal is not as straightforward as it seems – to conquer Floor 120 of the Mines within a span of merely seven days. Having successfully navigated this labyrinth once before, I’m confidently optimistic that a repeat performance will be a smooth sail, right?

To begin with, the elevator appears to be out of order at the moment. You’ll need to fix it as you make your way down.

It’s even more perilous as the mines teem with more formidable creatures, many being tougher versions of enemies you’re accustomed to encountering, such as slimes. However, there are also some unexpected challenges ahead.

As you delve deeper into the perilous mines, you’ll encounter Radioactive Nodes scattered across all levels. The likelihood of finding them increases as you descend.

Upon ascending to Floor 120, you’ll encounter the Shrine of Challenge. Completing this level marks the end of the quest, granting you a total of 50 Qi Gems which can be utilized within Qi’s Nut Room.

Are you yearning for even greater challenges? If so, I recommend trying out the quest known as “Danger In The Deeps”. It’s worth noting that this quest can be repeated. For an authentic fight training experience, make sure to engage it while the Shrine of Challenge is already active.

Radioactive Ore In Skull Cavern

In the Skull Cavern, making it a dangerous place to explore will result in the appearance of Radioactive Ores.

To make the Skull Cavern’s entrance statue active, be prepared for a risky tomorrow. But remember, before it functions as intended, you must meet one more demand from that peculiar fellow.

Skull Cavern Invasion

As we did previously, why not head towards Qi’s Walnut Room every Monday until the Skull Cavern Invasion quest becomes available. If you believe you have the strength to descend as far as Floor 100 within Skull Cavern, then feel free to take on the challenge and accept the quest.

Unlike usual mines where digging takes place over multiple days, this quest demands that you dig deeply all in one day. It’s quite a challenge, so remember to gather plenty of supplies, especially food, to help maintain your health.

The quickest way down the Skull Cavern is dropping down a Shaft which spawns instead of a ladder. However, this never happens if you’re using Staircases.

A Shaft can drop you anywhere from 3 to 15 floors in one go. When you land, you’ll take damage based on how far you fell—make sure you’re healthy before taking the plunge!

Using s and other explosives, it’s possible to clear a lot of stones at once, improving the odds a Shaft will spawn. To descend quickly, alternate between Shafts and Staircases.

Opting for spacious, unobstructed floors when possible is beneficial during an explosion. However, if you encounter a twisting or labyrinthine floor, or one inhabited by monsters, it’s best to avoid them.

In the Skull Cavern Invasions, you’ll come across stronger variants of enemies you already know. But don’t fret, no brand-new creatures will be causing trouble for you.

Maintain your vigilance, and you’ll reach Floor 100. Upon achieving that, Mr. Qi will bestow upon you 40 Qi Gems, which you can trade for prizes in his Walnut Room.

You can make Skull Cavern hazardous whenever you wish by utilizing the statue. Similar to Danger in the Deep, this quest can be repeated. Give it a try when the statue is active for an added level of difficulty.

Using Radioactive Ore

Cool, you’ve collected some Radioactive Ore during your trials. Now what?

Radioactive Ore can be used in two recipes, or it can be used to smelt Radioactive Bars.

Additionally, you can fashion several advanced tools for your farm using Radioactive Bars, which will further accelerate your agricultural tasks.
