MW3 players gutted “dope” Haunting skins won’t carry over to Black Ops 6

As a long-time Call of Duty gamer who’s seen my fair share of Halloween events and operator skins, I can’t help but feel a tad frustrated with this year’s Haunting event in Modern Warfare 3. Don’t get me wrong, I love the spooky vibe and the addition of iconic characters like Michael Myers and Art the Clown. But knowing that these skins will be rendered useless once Black Ops 6 launches is a bit of a letdown.

Developers of Modern Warfare 3 unveiled numerous terrifying character skins during the Haunting event in Season 6, however, gamers are disheartened because these aesthetic items won’t have any effect on multiplayer when Black Ops 6 is released.

In Call of Duty, The Haunting is eagerly anticipated by fans because it transforms both Warzone and multiplayer into a Halloween extravaganza. This transformation includes an array of scary costumes, with this year’s edition featuring famous villains such as Michael Myers, Art the Clown, and even Daryl Dixon from The Walking Dead.

As a gamer, I’m pretty stoked about the new skins coming to Warzone, but it’s a bummer to learn that they won’t follow me over to Black Ops 6 when it drops on October 25th. It feels like I’ll be paying for temporary cosmetics and the thrill of using them will be short-lived. This decision has left many of us players feeling a bit frustrated, wishing we could hold onto our purchases for the long haul.

Reddit user ‘PuddingZealousideal6’ wondered, “Why provide us with such a cool Michael Myers skin when it won’t transfer over to the next multiplayer game in six weeks?” They expressed their hope that the developers would once more implement the Carry Forward feature for operators.

Many other players concurred, some even suggesting that The Haunting Operators would be a fitting addition to Black Ops 6 once it’s released.

One person suggested, “The same thought crossed my mind. Why not include him in BO6? It releases prior to Halloween.” Another joined the conversation, speculating, “That could generate a significant amount of revenue for promoting BO6.

Last year at this time, all skins from Modern Warfare 2 were transferred to MW3, as Activision’s title was essentially an expansion of MW2 and included all previously existing weapons as well.

Although Black Ops 6 represents a fresh start with an entirely new arsenal of weapons and gameplay that appears distinct, some fans find it disrespectful, especially those who invested in the Battle Pass and merchandise from MW3 at this stage of its life.

Another response suggested that “exceptions to the ‘no transfer’ rule should be made for collaborative skins, particularly the newer ones.

Starting from Season 1, Warzone will incorporate elements from Black Ops 6, which means you’ll be able to use all your Operators and weapons in Warzone. This is excellent news for Battle Royale players since it gives you the chance to conquer the new Area 99 map with skins from The Haunting event.
