Without any hesitation, it can be confidently stated that the game, remarkably created within just 2 to 3 days, was undeniably one of the most significant viral sensations in the mobile gaming sector.
As a devoted fan, I can tell you that the flying sensation provided by Flappy Bird was short-lived. It didn’t take long for this popular game to tumble out of the digital sky. On February 8, 2014, the game’s creator, Dong Nguyen, shared on Twitter that he intended to take Flappy Bird out of both the Google Play Store and Apple’s App Store.
He felt guilty that his game, which he originally intended to be something that people could play for a few minutes when relaxed, had devolved into an overused app that encouraged addictions.

It’s worth noting that Dong Nguyen isn’t involved in the recent version of Flappy Bird or its return. Instead, the revival of the Flappy Bird series is being handled by The Flappy Bird Foundation – a group of dedicated fans who are excited to bring the game back to the public.
As reported by IGN, the Flappy Bird Foundation Group (FBFG) has acquired the copyright and ownership rights for the initial viral mobile game. They plan to reintroduce it in 2025, offering updated game modes, characters, secrets, and additional features alongside the original version.
