Satisfactory: How To Craft Iron Plates & Iron Rods

As a seasoned Satisfactory player, I can confidently say that navigating this game is like traversing uncharted territories, filled with challenges and opportunities galore. One of the essential resources to master early on is iron ore – it’s as vital as water in the desert!

Living in the game Satisfactory can pose challenges, particularly at the outset when settlers are transported to an unfamiliar world with scant resources and tools. During the initial phase of play, iron ore is one of the simplest resources to harvest, easily found within the first few minutes and mineable using the starting pickaxe tool. Pioneers also have the option to break down their navigation pods for a substantial amount of iron ore.

Gathering iron ore is crucial in the early stages of the game ‘Satisfactory’, as it’s essential for making Iron Plates and Iron Rods – items that are indispensable. You can’t make it through the initial days in Satisfactory without producing these two items, since they’re needed to enhance the HUB Terminal. Therefore, eager explorers should scour the world, searching for iron ore in abundance.

How To Craft Iron Plates And Iron Rods In Satisfactory

As a passionate pioneer, I understand that two essential items must be acquired before we can start stockpiling Iron Plates and Iron Rods: iron ore for crafting them and the HUB Terminal, which serves as our handy crafting bench. Luckily, the pod we arrived in can be dismantled to yield enough iron ore for constructing the HUB Terminal, and additional iron ore can be effortlessly gathered.

After building the HUB Terminal and gathering enough iron ore through farming, it’s now time to make the most of your crafting bench. Just position yourself in front of it, then follow the given instructions to proceed. To create Iron Plates or Iron Rods, you’ll need a certain amount of iron ore. Place the required iron ore into the empty slot and confirm your selection before starting to craft your chosen item. Here are the tiers that utilize these two items, along with the quantity needed for each one:

How To Farm Iron Ore In Satisfactory?

Satisfactory: How To Craft Iron Plates & Iron Rods

To construct Iron Plates and Iron Rods, which are essential for the early stages of gameplay in Satisfactory, it’s crucial that pioneers invest significant time initially to gather sufficient iron ore. The upside is that iron ore is abundant within the game, so players won’t have to search extensively to locate some. Furthermore, each pioneer is equipped with a scanner featuring an iron ore detection function right from the start.

Except for the pod players used to arrive in the new world, which can be disassembled for enough iron ore to build the HUB Terminal, pioneers can find iron ore in two different ways. Using the scanner will make life easier, as it will pinpoint the location of iron ore and the distance between the player and its location. Pioneers will be able to spot the ore location on the map above, and reach the destination by running towards it. Here are the two best ways to farm iron ore:

  • Iron Ore Clusters: The giant clusters offer players the most iron ore for their efforts. Simply stand in front of the cluster and begin chipping away at it with the equipped tool. Clusters will eventually break and disappear, but not before giving pioneers a good amount of iron ore.
  • Iron Flooring: The flooring below the clusters can also be hacked away at for iron ore, though they only offer one iron ore per three swings. Flooring does not break and disappear, so pioneers can spend as much time as they wish to gather a good quantity of iron ore.
